I understand the top ladder players want to ladder to be global. You guys earned your top spots. Specifically it is Willer, Laurens, and Dawid that are the top 3 ladder players. (Note that I see other players talk of many that are highly skilled that don't compete in ladder. That's nice, but the ladder is representative of participating players so they are a non subject). I respect and understand that you guys want your top spots. I agree that the ladder needs/should be global. I disagree with a country based ladder. There are not enough players in other countries to warrant a country based ladder system. Explicitly, there are 2 players that have bothered to play ladder to earn more than 92k points.
I played 3 RoC weeks. Earned almost 95k points. Then this problem surfaced such that non Euro players points would not decrease. Personally I thought thas was indicative of a bug or poorly designed system, or poorly thought out system atleast, by Nadeo.
Nonetheless here is the grief I have now.
In an effort for you to keep your top spots, in your fear that someone else would share the top spot, you are doing the same thing to me.
Now, understand this in two aspects. First, many players don't respect the ladder positions, they don't feel it represents the top players. They're opinion is fine, I disagree in that it represents active, participating players, same as in StarCraft 2. If Stephano doesn't play ladder for a season, does that mean he's not as good? No way, it just means he didn't participate and others are deserving of the top ranking. At the end of the day, I respect the top ladder players as the top participating players. They earned their spot and they deserve it.
Furthermore, I won't play ladder RoC matches now because they switch zones to push my points down. But guess what? In doing that they are taking my top NA spot in single player campaign. I have earned 63/65 top 1st NA positions (7th world) in the single player campaign. Here again, many players don't respect single player campaign players. They don't have to as it's the same argument about active, participating players as the mp ladder.
So in an effort to preserve their top mp spot they switch zones and take away my top sp spot. That is the very definition of being a hypocrit. You guys don't respect the single player campaign apparently the way you want others to respect your multiplayer ranking.
Look, I'm not going to play RoC matches because it causes this confliction. At this rate I'd have 100k lp in another 3 weeks probably. If i want to play more, I'll switch to Euro to compete with you directly. But don't be a jerk by switching zones and propagating the same thing on others you don't want done to yourself.
Could have simply asked my prior to this. I'm approachable and mature, a college graduate that works hard both professionally and in my leisure time. I just aske for a bit of understanding in the same way you are.

Well, I don't think they switch zones because they want to block other players, they just want to be at the top without 'wasting' time for playing RoC (yes, yesterday laurens and willer didn't even play but they kept their LP).
Just get rid of this ladder concept, Nadeo, or at least add a penalty for a change of location.

Re: Switching Zones to Push Others LP down
I fully agree and thats why I'm not going to play RoC. If I choose to play RoC again I will switch to Europe and do it properly. I typically go to Disneyland on Sundays mornings (RoC is 7/8am here) with my family anyway.dawiddada wrote:Well, I don't think they switch zones because they want to block other players, they just want to be at the top without 'wasting' time for playing RoC (yes, yesterday laurens and willer didn't even play but they kept their LP).

But again, it's not right when players are doing the same thing to me what they don't want done to themselves. I understand and respect this and as such won't bother to play RoC. I just ask for that same respect back that you guys are asking for. My goal for this game is to have every single NA #1 sp spot and break into top 3 world sp, and to stay there for the lifespan of the game. If multiplayer ranking is ever fixed properly then I would participate again.
Nadeo has indicated the ladder is in "beta", that it's supposed to be country based. I don't think there is a single Canyon player that wants this. There are exactly 2 players that have bothered to play RoC (Noeh and myself) that are not in Europe. We have noone to race against in our countries and it causes this confliction of zone switching. I don't think any business operates on the basis of making things solely how they want things. Rather, they listen to their customer base. I hope Nadeo listens to the players.
Re: Switching Zones to Push Others LP down
It is anyway a stupid system, whatever you do on it. RoC shouldn't be on sunday, playing 3 hours non stop!
But well, we can't change this at all, so we don't have to complain, even if it is worth to complain!
I can't play all these sundays otherwise I would again be #1..
Nevertheless, these zone things should change indeed, because now I'm just sitting at 99500 forever

I appreciate you switching back. I didn't think it was your intention to do to others what you didn't want happening to yourself. Unfortunately, the current ladder system is open to exploitation via zone switching. Perhaps I should delete this thread, or if a moderator feels that is appropriate I'd understand.
Re: Switching Zones to Push Others LP down
It's not at all appropriate! You're definetely right
Furthermore, I don't switch zones at all to let lose someone else his LPs..
Just sitting at 99500 because RoC is stupid and let's say unskilled,
Although it's a nice competition for players and we (as laddermod) will try to do the best possible for these RoCs

By sitting at 99500 and 99700 you and willer are doing the opposite.laurens92 wrote: we (as laddermod) will try to do the best possible for these RoCs
Re: Switching Zones to Push Others LP down
The opposite would be if I'm going to take you.. which I won't do because it's unfair, but when I've back time I'll definetely hunt you again.
To come back on the sentence I said, I mostly meant that the maps will be more controled and no issues on servers etc..

Re: Switching Zones to Push Others LP down
If you can't play, it's your problem. I don't really care, but you should think about players ranked 4th and 5th who could be 2nd and 3rd without you and willer doing such things.laurens92 wrote:The opposite would be if I'm going to take you.. which I won't do because it's unfair, but when I've back time I'll definetely hunt you again.

I know that you're so scared from me when I start RoC. But let's not start to insult each other
Have fun at your RoC!
