Copyrighted music?

Hello,

I'm making a commercial video for a game called Curvefever (http://www.curvefever.com)
I wondered if I could use the songs featured in the March Video Maniaplaneet contest (http://blog.maniaplanet.com/blog/2013/0 ... niaplanet/), in the commercial I am making.
Is it copyrighted, or is it license-free? (If so, credits will be mentioned in the video and description for sure)

I think usage of music from ManiaPlanet is restricted to the ManiaPlanet games themselves.
So if you're doing anything outside of ManiaPlanet, you cannot use the music most probably.
But let's wait for a official reaction from Nadeo here.

Now I have got the answer, I'm posting it here as it could be interesting as well for other video creators:

I'm sorry but you can't use the ManiaPlanet song in a commercial video, you have to ask the right/pay the licence to the owner of the songs (it's not us but i could ask for the name).

That includes even if only ManiaPlanet content is used in a commercial video, too?

If it does, then... I guess we won't use music after all.

(Is it still possible to contact Doo for asking old TM music license rights and use them on MP?)

This includes any content from ManiaPlanet, if you're doing a commercial for anything outside of ManiaPlanet.

If the creator of the music allows you to use his music, then you can use only the music, nothing else, of course.

I'm not planning to make a commercial video containing content from ManiaPlanet for anything outside of ManiaPlanet.

I might plan making a commercial video containing ShootMania/TrackMania content using ManiaPlanet content but without commentary (more likely like a movie replay or similar), which is okay if I've understood properly? (Just say Yes or No.)

And about asking for permission, I'll still wait until I actually start with MP videos, I don't want to rush.

Yes.
If you do a video for the community, if you want to avertise your own ManiaPlanet creations, then it is fine to use any content provided by the game itself.
