[RC1][Canyon] Computing Shadows Freezes Computer

Post by zack11 »

Recently when I compute shadows (default of high quality) it causes my computer to freeze up (i.e. no mouse movements or keystrokes have any result) Sometimes it freezes before the 1st lighting bouce can be done, but I have also had it freeze up when it was on lighting bouce 4. Please fix this problem soon. It is rather annoying having to restart my computer every time I try to compute shadows :teub:

Seems to be caused by bug reported here:

So for the time being there's a workaround. Or at least it's avoidable... ;)

how did you configur the lightmap settings in the advanced video configuration?

did it work before without any problem, or do you now create bigger maps than before?

the PC should not freeze, but the display in Maniaplanet might freeze during the calculation,
especially if you have light index enabled.
try to run ManiaPlanet in Windowed mode before starting the lightmap calculation.
