You seem pessimistic for no reason. I don't see the word 'only' in that sentence, and as maniaplanet is designed to add more capabilities to the existing manialink, manialive, maniahome, and new instruments to the mix, I don't see how or why all the above mentionned website would suffer from maniaplanet. On the contrary we appreciate external websites and hope they will thrive around maniaplanet.
