Maniaplanet on Steam

Post by AwesomeFart »

I totally love the idea... i have SM and open beta of TM2 Stadium installed on my station..

I have maniaplanet installed from the website... So i was like - hey lets sync my maniaplanet with my steam acc...
So i tryed to just put a path to game files into steam - did not even saw that option, after some time spent on google, find out that it is not possible...
So i downloaded trackmania stadium from steam ( 2nd time)...it worked - my acc instantly synced... and then i was like lets play SM... so i clicked on title SM and the game said - "Game needs to be restarted" wtf...? so after while i figured out that i need to dwnl Shootmania as a SECOND game on steam..and have 2 icons on desktop - 1 for SM and 1 for TM

so the point is....this is totally killing the idea of maniaplanet... i mean if i need to install mania games separately, with different icons on desktop, while not being able to switch between them IN GAME, then there is no point for maniplanet...

so my advice... do not use steam....

or just remove the tiles interface and get instantly to the main menu like in the first Canyon version (in Steam version ofc).

But i actually like the titles interface... and i play both games same ammount of time, so i like to just switch up sometimes...and i dont like the idea of turning the game off/on at all ( bcs i am used to just switch in game )
so for me its just no steam....

With the current system it is not possible.

Every game has it's own Steam-subfolder. And every Mania-Game/Title is sold as sperate game.

What had worked if they offered Maniaplanet as a free software on Steam and every game is internally handeled as optional DLC for Maniaplanet. That way all games and titles had been in one place.
