Just wondering,
Because people don't often get enough space they want to make a fancy enough name kinda like mine which i somehow weirdly got 10 or more codes in my name
Anyhow...Just asking how much space we will get too make a good/fancy coloured name?
It`s not only the problem for players who want to design a nickname with 41 different colours also the players with manialinks who put the adress into brackets sometimes have problems to do this properly.
I think it will depend on the resolution of the game. For example, it you are playing at 1040x860, you can only read some of the names incomplete, but if you are playing at 2560 × 1440, you can read them completely.
I expect something like this.
And it was all the plan of...MR.TROLOLO GUY! World Records: None, best result: 91th (D03-Acrobatics) Country Records: 1 (Stunt) Province Records: 6 (Stunt) 1 (Stadium) 1 (StarTrack)
I think that for coloured text, it would be better to just set colours for each letter by highlighting it and picking a colour. You know like you can in word, open office or what ever.
If possable, you could use fonts that are on your computer already and have all sorts of fancy names and things.
In my opinion, too much fancy fonts like in TMF is bad. Some of them are useless and makes a nick less readable and more stupid. It shouldn't be a lot of them.
At the lenght of a nickname or the colours or the amount of special characters, you can guess the age or the mind behind the nick. So just keep it as it is to make things easier
Those are NOT different fonts in TMF, they're different alphabets within a single character set (probably a variant on unicode, as not all unicode characters seem to be supported).
For instance, Chinese players should be allowed to write their name with Chinese characters in-game, as it is possible right now.
The problem is that a lot of people use non-Latin alphabets to spell their Latin based name, probably in an effort to make themselves look cool or add some personality and flair to their name. So they use characters that mean something else entirely only because it looks similar to the Latin characters.
I actually do this too, so I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever. I use Greek characters because they're a little bolder but still look very similar to the Latin characters.
As I said in another topic I started (cause I didn't see this one), I think anything that is incorporated into the name as color codes (bold, italics, shadow, colors) should not count towards the maximum length of the name. Only the visible characters should count towards the maximum length.

That would be a great solution indeed, i totally agree with that.
