[TM2][Key]Canyon key is invalid?

Hi,

I have the same Steam issue: "Key is invalid". In my case however, I bought the game from GamersGate. Is my activation key not able to be used on Steam because of this? It's in the same format as described by Spikehead (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX). I have entered it by hand, as well as copy + paste, being extra careful not to include blank spaces. It doesn't work regardless.

I do have the same problem with Canyon and Nations 2.

I've read all posts in this thread, I didn't miss the info about that it could take longer for the keys to work on Steam (which I find really weird), but it's been a week now and my Key is still not working with Steam. They activated fine in the game though.

Would be great to know how long it usually takes for the keys to be redeemable on steam.

TMarc, those are the exact steps I performed the other day. When I performed them, I tried multiple times, double-checking to make sure the key was correct. Oddly enough, I tried again just now, and the activation key worked perfectly fine. Maybe I wasn't careful enough, previously. The key works now, and I'm downloading TrackMania 2: Canyon on Steam.

how do you donwload from steam without purchasing from steam. that is what I need to do as I cannot access my account on Mania Planet but have my order number, validation code and game key. I purchased directly from Mania Planet. I need to redownload as game was deleted accidentally but I can't get into mania planet

Please do not mix the threads. Your issue is different. And you won't make it work with Steam either.
Steam needs the key to download the game, and then it only runs from inside Steam.

Still not? Which error message do you get actually? Invalid key, or some other?
Make sure Steam is online, and ManiaPlanet is not running at the same time.

Sorry guys, I have a new information for you, translated from the French forum:

In fact we generate the keys for the certified shops, and we send them in batches to Steam where they get added to their key database. But this is not done instantaneoulsy (it might take up to a few weeks since we have to do this manually), and because we didn't generate keys that were compatible with Steam from the beginning.

Thus it might happen that people get keys which haven't been inserted yet to the Steam database, therefore those players have to ask the support to get their keys transferred.
