I'm wondering if it's possible to alter the actual editor interface..
To be a little more clear:
I don't want to use all blocks and therefor restrict access only to the blocks i choose.
This is important so people building for the new mod won't add unsupported blocks and mess up the entire style/atmosphere.
would also like to know if it's possible to edit the current menu so that it auto closes/minimizes after blockselect. At the moment you can't add blocks "near your feet" as the menu is in the way.

Re: Customise the editor UI?
Not sure if it's possible to restrict access, but regarding block menus being in the way simply press F1 (Terraformation mode) quickly followed by F2 (Block mode). For example hold your middle finger over F1 and your index finger over F2, then you can press F2 immediately after F1. It's how I deal with that problem.
This will "reset" the block menu to only display the lower row of blocks, so that the others don't get in the way.

Interesting. I'll give that a try too.
Didn't TAB use to hide the blocks menu?
