Is there any good reason why i can't change the valley music without getting slammed with a "required" update that pretty much says "Oh, you don't like the music, well we're going to force it down your throat till you like it. What's that, you still don't like it? Well then here's some more of it then!"
And if your answer is because people would "mod" SM if it was possible... it's very very simple to make sure that MP checks to make sure none of the SM files have been changed. And anyways, all i did change was the music for valley, and now it doesn't want to let me play it untill i say "ok fine, play your music." because i somehow hurt it's feelings by changing the music
Is there any good reason why i can't change the music?

Another thing to remember is that this is a public forum and if you express an opinion, others will disagree with you. They aren't being trolls; they simply have different opinions, and theirs are just as valid as yours.

why don't you turn off the ingame music and let your music play in the background?

You can also use plugins to add custom music on dedicated server.
And you can add custom music to your maps.
But you cannot replace any of the contents directly in the original game packages.
Any modification to the original files is detected and a update is forced, to fix this.
Mods have to be done aside, e.g. in new title packs.

The good reason is most people aren't going to go playing around with the game files and most people won't mind playing their music in the background through a music player.

I know that you can put your song in : [Personal data]\Musics\
and then in your environment; let's say valley and then in Race or editor (where you want your custom music to be played)
I don't know if it works great tough
( I never tried it )

You don't need to change the music. Valley music is awesome. I listened to the same 7 Valley songs for 16 hours and never once got tired of them. Props to Professor Kliq for an awesome OST!
