I changed a few settings and somehow it worked out pretty well. I am able to play 1080p 60fps on decent settings now. I still have a few frame drops in forest sections (Minimum of *40fps). I'll post the settings later for those, who have the same problem.Alter-Fox wrote:I have a laptop with a g520m and I had the same problem for the first two days of playing. After that it just suddenly went up to 20-30 fps regardless of the track section, at generally low graphical settings. Right now I'm trying to figure out what caused the change, once I figure it out I'll let you know. The only thing I can think of now is that after the second day I restarted my laptop (well, not even really restarted, I hibernated it).paraflagz wrote:I really like it. It's challenging. But the frame rate is pretty bad for me. I play on a laptop with a gt650m. I only get 15-20 fps (sometimes). I get 60 fps on Canyon with the same settings. Seems like the frame rate drops down in the dirt sections of the track
I agree though, I really like the driving style on Valley.

what's your pc configuration?meow81 wrote:what are the recommended system requirements of valley? not the minimum, i want to know if can run decently in my pc so i can choose if buy or not.
Valley runs ok on my sort of old 2007 desktop with Core 2 Duo E6750, Radeon HD 6850, 4 Gb RAM, with most settings at high. By ok here, I mean 35 to 45 fps, with drops to 15-20 fps in forest

Re: Trackmania² Valley Released!
The steering on dirt is way too sensitive and it's frustrating, I always end up off the track. I think this should be fixed in the next update, like have an option to set steering sensitivity.
Steering on the road is just fine though.
Also is there gonna be a platform mode? It would be awesome with the game's physics.

Cpu amd phenom2 x2 550 3.10ghz, radeon amd asus hd4670 1gb,4gb ram ddr2, monitor lcd 17" 1280x1024 . What resolution do u use? I use only 1280x1024 or lower in some games like fear3.kangroo wrote:what's your pc configuration?meow81 wrote:what are the recommended system requirements of valley? not the minimum, i want to know if can run decently in my pc so i can choose if buy or not.

Radeon amd asus hd4670 1gb is good enough for the medium settings of valley? In 1280x1024 can reach 30 fps or more ?

Nice to see you have a sense of humour when you should be explaining and/or apologising to customers why you under-delivered on your promises for this skin pack.Fix wrote:Sheza wrote:*Being charged 20 euros for a skin pack
It was mentioned in this thread. People are upset that they didn't bother to spend time making Valley look nice. IIRC the beautiful graphics are one of the selling points of the game, shame not only do some needed elements not exist, they also don't deliver on their promise to make the game run smoothly on a variety of machines.Wormii wrote:You serious? I think Valley is too realistic already. This isn't Gran Turismo or DiRT.Sheza wrote:*Being undersold on visual effects (no rain stuff, poor dirt effects)
See: Nadeo's Trackmania 2 Valley USP list.Bramble wrote:If you want rain, go play a game that is a driving simulation. Trackmania is an arcade racer, and I hope it stays that way. Why change things to turn it into something else?
I'd get a lot more fun out of TM if the movie and track editors were designed with humans in mind. Or buttons that actually make sense. Let's see what else Nadeo have undersold on... hmm, less offline tracks in this version.Bramble wrote:As for the pricing, I think it's pretty reasonable. Lots of companies release games that are basically the same year after year and the prices are always higher than £20.00! There isn't much you can do these days for that sort of price, and for the amount of fun you can get out of TM, then it's pretty good value.
I'm confident that if the price was lower for what is essentially a piece of DLC, an 'environment', then more people would buy it. As it stands, meh!Bramble wrote:I assume you realise that NADEO have to sell games for a decent price in order to exist. All their guys earn wages... this is the real world!

not sure.meow81 wrote:

I just found out that the fps are even lower on night tracks (like C01), less than 20 all the time
The 6850 is some 4 times more powerful than the 4670, and it still may get below 20 fps quite often. then again, I use 1920x1200 and high settings.
guess we'd better wait for someone with a similar graphic card to respond...
Re: Trackmania² Valley Released!
I would guess so, I can run nice enough looking graphics on my NVIDIA 8800 GTS, which is pretty old these days!

Re: Trackmania² Valley Released!
So what ? Would you prefer ManiaPlanet alone for 50€, then each environment for 5€ ?....Sheza wrote:I'm confident that if the price was lower for what is essentially a piece of DLC, an 'environment', then more people would buy it. As it stands, meh!

Re: Trackmania² Valley Released!
No, I believe a sensible model would be 20 euros for the original TM2 Canyon (which I was lead to believe was the full TM2 game, complete with these updates, as Nadeo CEO stated once) and then between 5 to 8 euros per pack thereafter.Slig wrote:So what ?
