Is Valley a flop like Canyon was?

Post by alan_ch »

:D :D :D
Seriously...is Valley a flop like Canyon was? Is it played mainly by a small circle of fanbois like Canyon was? How many and what type of servers are there? Are there mostly 10-year olds and no-lifers playing stupid lolmaps in boring time attack servers like that was the case in Canyon? Are there hardly any rounds servers like in Canyon? Are there hardly any quality maps like that was the case in Canyon? :D

Tell me the truth and proof me wrong. I don't know, I bought Canyon and I was disappointed. I didn't buy Valley and I won't until I can test the handling, see if there are enough players playing rounds and if the maps are good. :D

Tell me :D

If you were disappointed with Canyon, which was a huge success and a ton of fun... then you'll probably be disappointed by Valley too. It's an amazing game and players are doing amazing things in it, as they did with Canyon.

But you seem to have made up your mind about it already. Going into it with preconceptions will only lead you to disappointment.

@eyebo: You see, I wouldn't listen to fanbois like you, because you say Canyon was a "huge success". :roflol: I saw there were never many people who played Canyon since it was released until today. I saw there were even less people who played the only mode which is exciting: Rounds! :D I haven't made up my mind at all. I'm just caucious. Bitten once, twice shy. I'm curious to hear the opinion about Valley from people who admit that Canyon was a flop, not from people like you. :D

The lack of people on Canyon multiplayer is simple, they are too busy making new tracks for it, playing the solo campaign, painting cars, doing stuff on MediaTracker, or playing the other MP games like TM2 Stadium, Valley and ShootMania Storm

I like how you ask a question, get an answer, and then say that the answer is incorrect. You aren't actually interested in having your question answered, you only want to hear from the minority that agree with you and have your opinion 'validated'.
You can dislike the game as much as you like, the rest of us will get on creating amazing things

He just wants to get the most rational answer from... "different" (damn, I really don't want to start any fight, and it's super easy to do so here) kind of people. Totally understandable.

I would also like to get an answer to OP's question. So after you write what you think about Valley, it would be nice of you, if you write (very) shortly about other maniaplanet games. ;) These answers will be way more informative and valuable for me. ;)
Sometimes it's obvious if you're just fanboy or not, but it still would be nice to get answer with clear infos.

I have bought valley and I do love trackmania games but valley is a little meh..
You constantly have to de-accelerate to make turns and barely drift it is not what I expected.

Also there are not that much interesting blocks :( Most of the blocks are flat and not many twist and turns and
jump like stadium or canyon. Also it is really hard to land on another ramp after you jump off of one.

I love canyon more than valley because you drift alot, I mean drifting is important but in valley its different

I also wish valley was more like rally from united because rally had cool slopes and castles with jumps, and also
rally cars handling was a little hard but it is better than valley with heavy handling feeling and heavy turns.

Though this is just my opinion.

People answering in a friendly fashion saying they like this game are automaticaly fanboys. The decent part of this entire forum is driven by fanboys. (I'm not saying I belong to the decent part) What else would you expect? People who hate this game arn't loged on all the time to see if they can answer questions or help somebody in some other positive way.

Apperently you won't take no for an answer. If we all remain in this frame of mind, Valley will flop for the masses indeed.

If everybody would change his mind to "hey what the heck, what's €20,- for a game anyway, let's just do this and have some fun" all, now empty, servers will be full and will have people queing to have a go sooner then you can say "fanboy"!

I don't know what your TM background is but it's nothing like stadium at all and it takes time to get the hang of it. Nadeo gave us the tools and now it's up to us to make something out of it. If you don't want to be part of that, it's your loss. Sitting on the side waiting and moaning doesn't get you anywhere neither.

FanBoyZ :pil

Side note: Free to play demos should be out there way before the official release of a game but that's just my logic.

Simple facts: no other environment than Stadium ever had the success of Canyon & Valley. Canyon has still more players connected each day than had TMO or Sunrise, all environments combined. And there is more paying people connected to Maniaplanet than paying people on United.

And this is even without the demos, while TMO & TMS had demos to bring more people in. Demos will come when it's time, and there is nothing that force anybody to play now. And if you want, it is a 20€ indeed, two times less than TMO or TMS. Until then, I suggest to read comments or watch videos to make your oppinion. And by the way, playing can also be tricky since some people dislike dirt at first, but love it after. So, even your own oppinion can play you tricks. :D

Dont buy this game, this one or any other Maniaplanet ones.

Like said above, if you feel like Canyon was what u pretend it is, just dont buy it and go to another community. because canyon=valley=stad= fuckin awesome games.

Of course you've got the right to not like it, and say it loud here, My advise would be you to see around if there is not another better game.
