You constantly have to de-accelerate to make turns and barely drift it is not what I expected.
That's the entire reason why Valley is great. You need variety in the environments, what is the point in making it the same as Canyon but just with white cliffs?

Back to the original question, it seems like you've made up your mind anyway, so there seems little point in telling you what the game is like. If you want to ask a question, don't try to answer it yourself in your ignorance if you want an answer.

My advice is: If you dislike ALL of the game mechanics in a particular game...
play a different game.
This is like going onto call of duty forums and complaining about the killstreak system. You want an entirely different game tailored specifically for you, don't expect this one to change to match

As long as we have no multienvironment servers in TM2, the envis are weak alone.

Fair enough, I wasn't around when Sunrise came. I started playing Trackmania Nations(the free version) and it was so exciting that there were so many players, so many dirt ROUNDS servers, often 30, 40 or more players per server with good maps. So I compared Canyon to Nations. In Canyon most of the time there were only 1 or 2 rounds servers with about 10 players each, that was really poor. The other annoying thing was that in order to get enough points to even join the rounds servers I had to play countless hours in stupid lolmaps just to gain points. You know those 10 second maps made by 10 year olds where you have to find a stupid shortcut or somehow crash stupidly to reach the finnish line.

:roflol:

In the beginning when Canyon came out, the fanbois were saying, "yeah this is just the beginning, it will grow and grow and many people will play it later, blah blah", but it never happened. It always remained a game for a small circle unlike Nations. :D

Maybe Canyon was a "financial success" to you, but that would mean that many people who bought it, stopped playing it soon... ;) It certainly never was an "online success".

The fact that you compared free players to paying ones that makes you see the things in a different way. Some players said that they became anonymous when Nations was released, that there was no spirit compared to servers like the one of LePapa. Success can be related to number, money or quality of the experience. I think that Maniaplanet is doing good in the three areas, but that we need to work more to improve, by demos and possibly multiple environment servers, which are tricky (unless that the switch of servers works well short term) But if you were playing on Stadium/Round/Dirt in Stadium, I am not sure that's what you are waiting for.

I guess you have never driven a PMC in Canyon for example with more then 90 players in 1 server, all players who love to play Canyon. It may not be an online succes to you but thats just an opinion. So be it, we dont mind, we still keep on playing the "flop" and still love it and let us play what we want.

You stopped playing because you missed the amount of players you had before on Nations? If all players stopped playing because they couldnt see other players it is really logical that all these servers stayed empty. Community's have to be build and never start just like that.

I am afraid you will not like Valley as well because in a few weeks i expect that the players who dont like Valley have left and the remaining players are starting to build their community. Those number of players wont be that high as in Nations probably but that doesnt mean its a flop. I hope you will find another racegame to your satisfaction with a huge amount of players. We have found our racegame and we want to enjoy it!!

Maybe their egos got hurt when many new players didn't show them respect. For me it's not about ego, time, ladder or points. For me it's just about fun and and the challenge to win the current race.

They were having fun being together, knowing each other and chatting, in addition to the race. Don't think it was about ego. What you describe can nearly be done in solo against ghost that you can download by hundreds, if you want other cars on the tracks :p (I know it is different, it's for the joke)

Valley has enough players right now, however (in my opinion)only bad servers are popular right now.

This means:

Right now LOL Servers, Short Map Servers and Fullspeed Servers.

Real skill servers exist but have no players. However once again it's just a matter of personal taste, I just hate fullspeed/short/lol in Valley, so it is pretty bad right now.

I was first in multiplayer till Wednesday, but I just don't play anymore right now, because I wait till good servers get popular, because otherwise it doesn't make fun for me.

I love Canyon and Valley, they are awesome games and good old Stadium isn't that bad either (it is the one with I discovered TM too) :D

But yeah I have to agree about the online part - I have allways loved TM because of all the crazy stuff - user built maps with wicked jumps, loops, wallrides, whatever and the crashes they produce :D and all that awesome stuff but what is online - like alan said - mostly only time atack mode and with short lol or tech (just plain old road with couple of corners more or less) maps and thats it. Even is there are some active rounds servers then like again alan said, those are not accessible by simple mortals like me, who will never have enough points (why is that, I cannot understand - like there is no collisions that some n00bs can use to screw others races up or something  ).

Maybe people like we should get together and play some great rounds on cool maps someday? Should be fun 8-)
