Valley C13 is the new A08

Hello fellow trackmaniacs. I want to share with you my frustration and joy. I've been playing through the Valley campaign and I love it so far, getting steady golds on almost every track. But last night I got to the troll of a track that is C13. At first I thought it was just an ordinary track. I'm usually very patient with tracks, so I kept telling myself "I'll get it soon". But those ramps...

Maybe it's the car physics. Maybe it's the devious track design. Or maybe it's just me that didn't get the hang of it. For whatever reason I couldn't even make it to the finish line. After about 20 retries I started saving the most interesting failed replays. I thought "This could be video material if it keeps going like this". And it did. After some 30-40 retries I managed to get silver through the far finish. But I needed gold. In the end it took me no less than 83 saved replays, and well over 100 retries to finally nail gold.

A quick search on the forum reveals that I'm not the only one that's been struggling with this track. I both hate and love Valley C13. It's got potential. What do you guys think?

Exactly! I cannot get gold on this track. I cant even land to the other ramps because the physics is a little strange.
They should fix this. It is really hard.

Haha yeah, it's quite a memorable track, would love to see a video done for it. :thumbsup:

Thanks to tracks like this, we can see the flaws in the Valley gameplay:
After a lot of tries, I still haven't understand how the transfers are supposed to work in Valley.
(I'm not even sure that there is something to understand... :roll:)

I hope that the gameplay or the blocs will be fixed to have usable transfers in Valley. ;)

We can no 'fix' something that is not really broken, since it's the physic of this car that makes it like that. In fact, valley was not really done for transfers. There are half loop because that's the way we do loop often and there is this forest block and maps I did not asked for. It is great that we have people with enough experience to create stuff without looking at everything, but since I did not communicated all the parameters, it is normal that they can't make it perfectly.

Rallye was not really a transfer environment as well. So, it makes for really difficult / chaotic situations, but I am pretty sure transfers will be mastered with time by the best of you.

Or is is the first official trial block that requires no special mapping? ^_^

Just wanted to see what this is all about and tryed the C13 yesterday, was'nt that bad - got my gold in about 5 minutes with plenty of retries ofc :D To me the first jump (transfer?) was the most pain in the ass (where I mostly failed) :)

New A08? You mean A08 of Canyon? That too is hard/tricky/lucky? :D

its not the first jump thats hard its the second jump!

its not the first jump thats hard its the second jump!
Yeah I figured that out, just said that I failed mostly at the first for some reason :P - adrenaline for sure when finaly got to the second and then third - ou my :shock:

Kudos to you for making it so fast. :thumbsup: I've clearly got a lot to learn in Valley still.

And yes, I was referring to A08 of Canyon. I think wormi's comic puts it nicely, I couldn't find it but it's in this announcement video for metoxy's first TM2 1k project. I'm happy the tradition with A08 has been kept; A08 of both Stadium and Valley are similarly built, though fortunately a bit easier to master. :lol:
And of course, now there's Valley C13.
