[Petition] Democratic Bans

We are asking you Nadeo to change Bans rules in the name of video games sports spirit.

We are tired that a single admin dictator can choose by himself to ban, and forever a player HE dislike. In a modern era of democraty we want a democratic vote to ban players for a LIMITED time.

We dont accept small dictators to choose bans that last FOREVER !

AS PLAYERS WE ARE TIRED OF THAT !

It touch the credibility of sport video games knowing that some serves are highly frequented which therefore create a discrimination between baned and not baned players.

We want a sport video games code of ethic.

We dont want to be bans for ours opinons. We want to have freedom of speech.

This is applying to TMU, Stadium, Canyon and Valley.

Admins are generally leaders/owners of a server and they can simply do what they want on it.

If it's an unfair ban, the admin simply isn't good which should convince you the server isn't even worth playing. Works that way for me if I'd be unfairly banned anyway.

I'd agree that votebans become timed instead of permanent, though.

If there is a server with bad admins the best is always to find a better server and make it popular. It's pure Capitalism man, a self regulating system.
I know it's rarely that easy, but I don't think forbidding bans would be a good choice.

Just think, you had a public server and you wanted people to play on it and have fun.
When someone joins the server and starts insulting people, cheating, trolling or when it is a group of people they can easily kickvote other people from the server for their own egoistic reason, or maybe for no reason at all... well then you as an admin really need a tool to make those people leave and never come again. It is called perm ban.

THEREFORE NADEO could force serves to respect a certain code of ethics, and thoses who refuse democratic ban vote immediatly lose his rights to give ladders points to players BECAUSE it discriminate banned players to acces high frequented serve with high ranked players.

TGYoshi well defines how the server managing works. The only rules that we check out are the ladder rules:

We can downgrade the server limits to 0/50k when no respect of these rules.

I'm yet to come across a server where the admins outright just bans you without doing anything remarkably wrong.
It's really not up to Nadeo to control this, but up to the admins of the server to be fair, but also strict in way so all can have a good time.

I've been running servers for the last 6 years in all the environments and a simple warning to players who swear when I know there are youngster present normally does the trick without banning. But saying that , don't expect not to be banned if you don't follow the server rules.

Time based ban , yes maybe... but rather contact the server owner and get explanation of why and how to remedy the situation. (I know of incidents on my own server, where xaseco was a bit buggy during some beta and people got auto ban even admins

Again .. it's up to the server owners (as mentioned before we pay money to host the servers, not talking about ladder servers).

Maybe you can ask yourself just 1 question: Is a server where you get banned for no reason worth visiting?
Enough other servers where you can play freely with nice people and nice admins.
