[Petition to Nadeo] Democratic Bans

Except servers ARE dictatorships, not democracy's. That comes with owning a server. If you want a democratic server then make your own =P

Attention, do not mix up politics here.

The democracy is there where you can chose the game, the title, the servers.
But on the servers there is kingdom, dictatorship or anarchy. Still you can choose to leave any time

Ok ... My 10 cents worth.

I, among others, am a Master Admin on the DDR (Dirty Deeds Racing) servers. About 95% of our members have 'Admin powers' which they WILL use. We run family friendly servers with strict rules so that anyone from a child to an adult can play and have fun. The rules are clear .. you break them and you will get one verbal warning, ignore it and you'll get one warning notice, ignore that and you're 'kicked' .. come back with more of the same and you're banned. Really bad offenders are 'blacklisted'. We will NOT tolerate cheats, racists, bullies, pedos, antagonists or abusive language. Consistently breaking any of these rules will earn you a one way ticket off the server.... This includes our own members!! We make no excuses for this.... if you don't like our way of doing things then don't come on the server ... Simples

I think that all the posts above sum up the ideas I have about unfair banning.
If you play on servers where you (or others) are being banned for no (good) reason, you should really ask yourself: "Am I playing on the right server(s)?".
There are enough servers on which there are clear rules for bans and if admins don't respect those rules, they'll be warned/demoted.

Furthermore: remember that maybe you think that there is no reason, but that there may be one for the admin in question (like he feels attacked, etc.).
Also, limited time bans could be included into the dedicated server, but the serveradmin will be able to disable them. And that is how it should be, the serveradmin who has the power to decide what happens on his server.

Banvotes can be heavily misused by players on a server, and I personally as serveradmin would lay my trust earlier in my admins than the players who can vote as they want (even as "prank").

Maybe you can ask yourself just 1 question: Is a server where you get banned for no reason worth visiting?
Enough other servers where you can play freely with nice people and nice admins.

Well there are like 1 90k full buzzy serve, if you are ban from it well you could NOT go 90k ! There are no choice ! This is why Nadeo need to pute VOTE BAN OPTION - AND - AS A LIMITED PERIODE OF TIME PUNISHMENT !

I've been banned from a server before ..... by the 2 players who were playing on it. I came on and said "Hi" and a 'vote' suddenly came up to ban me! Why? ... because they thought it was funny!! It wasn't their server, it was a HP Server and the Admin had left the 'voting' on. NOT FUNNY!!

The same goes for the idiots who keep wanting to 'skip track' because they're too idle to try and complete it (tho you should be able to vote Karma for a track WITHOUT completing it as some tracks are so bad that you can't finsh if you crash and the Server Admin doesn't take the track off because he doesn't know it's got bad Karma). Constantly asking to 'kick' or 'ban' other driver is another stupid trick of these morons.

Leave it to the Admin .. they're paying for it

A server is a private thing, which has an owner. Like Cany42's home. When you enter someone's home, you respect the rule the owner stayed. If you don't he/she throws you out and it's a fair thing.

It could be good to have the ladder run only on Nadeo owned servers, so that Nadeo is clearly responsible for what happens there. But taking care of those servers would be too much time consuming for Nadeo and they have more important issues to put time in. All in all there is no way to make a serious ladder, it can be disappointing but it's a fact.

Find a server where the admins are respectful, there are plenty of them.

You can't claim for freedom of speech and say this sentence at the same time. The latter makes you the closest guy of a dictator whithin this talk, do you realize?

Last but not least, there is nothing easier than escaping a "dictator" server admin. Try to escape a true dictatorship and we talk again about it after. There is something rather rethorical and not really serious in comparing venial abuses in video games with crime against humanity, at risk of making the latter a smaller deal than it is. I'm really tried of this rethoric from players who want to get more importance than they really deserve. No, you are not the new Robespierre.

I have a very great sportsmanlike code of conduct.

If you get banned from my server, its cause you cheated or trolled or were very rude or linked some sort of animal pornography or something in chat. You dont get banned for nothing, not on my server.

And caring about ladderpoints is so ridiculous. It's full of cheaters and boosters and clans that run their own servers and boost themself with multible accounts on the same server etc. It says absolutely nothing about your skill, just about how much time you can spend on ladder boosting. Drive for fun, not for epeen.
