Specs
Phenom II x4 965
GTX 570
4GB DDR3 1300mhz RAM
I have the game maxed out and it usually runs at 60fps at all times unless I am playing a track that uses a dirt road.
Right when I hit the dirt road the fps drop to 45.
My friend also has the same issue and he has an i5 2500k and a GTX 680 and gets the same fps drop to around 45fps during those dirt road segments.
His system is quite a bit more powerful than mine so it seems weird that we experience the same drop.
Is this supposed to happen and which setting in the game causes this so I can drop it to get the frame rate back up?

Re: Valley low fps when driving on dirt
It's the trees that cause the frame rate drop, not the dirt itself. I had to lower the resolution in Valley compared to Canyon or Stadium to get an acceptable frame rate. As far as I read in the forums you cannot do much about it in the launcher settings. And since you can't switch off the trees in the settings, you have to use blocks with trees wisely (which means sparingly
).

Re: Valley low fps when driving on dirt
Hello,
If I understand well, you're talking of average fps drop, not one frame being too long creating a jerk ?
In that case could you try to make 2 comparaison screen shots (one before the dirt where fps is ok, the other in the dirt) with the log version here:
http://files.maniaplanet.com/debug_vers ... t_logs.zip
(copy the exe in your install folder, don't rename it, run it directly, then in game press Ctr+F11 3 times to have a detailed view of what cost GPU time).
Do you have the display synchro. enabled ?
(If yes, you may try Triple buffer to avoid 60->45 fps drop)
Thanks

Re: Valley low fps when driving on dirt
I have the same problem. I have a g2020 processor, a GTX 660Ti and windows xp 32 bit. Could it be that the windows xp is the bottleneck and that there is not enough ram to play tracks with forests. The track A06 is particularly hard, since it has forest, headlights and some other blocks together.
Re: Valley low fps when driving on dirt
Same problem here too
. Canyon and Stadium are running at a solid 30fps but whenever I get to a forest area or so much as even see a tree in Valley my frame rates drop. Interestingly enough I had the same problem in Rally in TMUF, but was able to remedy that thanks to the option to lower tree quality in the launcher. Can we please have the same option in TM2? Valley is amazingly good, but the frame drops are killing me.

Re: Valley low fps when driving on dirt
As a side note, I'm a ShootMania player, and I have fps drops due to trees as well.
I've stopped playing the game due to this problem, and I'm not the only one.
