I would like to play Elite on B2, but want B2 to be removed.

I can do MJ and enjoy using it, but for some players it is too tricky to learn it, for example I couldn't perform it at all for 3 months until I accidentally discovered technique on how to do it more or less consistently. So I think it shouldn't be in the game just because some players have to rely on random discovery to learn it. I don't care what type of WJ to have and since I prefer consistent mechanics across all servers and modes, I would like B2 to be removed.

multi kill on MuNgLo

I do hope that's not global or at the very least not in B2. There is enough random cheesy stuff in the game already for competitive play.

You can just ask a player who is able to do it. Or make a post on this forum so NADEO can help you with it. Instead of figuring it out for 3months by urself.

Btw, my first option is to keep the game as it is ( with B2 ), but my 2nd option would be to remove the fulljump key & replace it with a minijump key ( Call it a sprint button). So everybody can play fast like the pros.
I honestly prefere playing against players with macros , than playing SM without MJ.

( i know this removes skill a bit, but at least the game doesnt change & it remains fast & fun. )

I kinda wish they just made the sprint a double tap in any direction, or as you said, a separate sprint key. There's a fine balance between being the most "skilled" game with hardly any players, and being conducive to new players to help the game grow.

I don't see the issue with the new microjumps, they are VERY TINY and the only difference I notice is it can't be spammed at near inhuman or (actual inhuman/macro) speeds. You hardly even leave the ground if you tap the key so I don't see how people are saying they "can't micro" anymore. Those who use rightmouse for jumps have an advantage over people like me who have used clunky spacebar for jump for nearly 2 decades and don't want to relearn an entire control scheme just to "micro-jump" without even leaving the ground.

It's not even remotely close to the old B3 settings where you noticably jumped up high regardless of how fast you tap the key, so I don't see an issue there, it's plenty fast enough to not leave yourself open while doing it.

I feel like the multi-hit laser is a gimmick, won't be used knowingly, it will be a random occurrence, and random occurrences don't belong in competitive play.

The recharge times alter the timing of the game, I think at the least people should give it a chance and come to a conclusion and not just be scared of change. Clearly this game needs something, this probably isn't it, but given the activity maybe it's better off to make it that tiny tiny bit easier for new players to microjump and move around properly. There is more to skill than being able to tap a button faster than somebody else, and the ones who have played it in NA haven't complained about micros at all from what I've seen, only the other changes (and difference in wall jumps).

Well if this isnt it, then dont change stuff. Lets wait untill there is actually something good.
Also, microjumping is not just the 'height' . By spamming it you could confuse defenders & avoid rockets more easily amongst other stuff. I consider it a skill.

PS : with every change there will always be some players hating the change and they will eventually leave. So IF we change it, then pls do it only once & GOOD.

<flame>

a technique for minijump? hit the mouse key only slightly maybe.. i don't think that's rocket science.. and it's also not random

fulljump key = good thing, but i could live without it (definitely great for some tricky moves though)
minijump key -> what?? for what would that be needed? the progressive jump is used to alter your jump height
its intention isn't only the smallest possible jump
a minijump key would be pretty much a sprint key and that's absolutely ridiculous if you ask me
sprint key = pussy technique

imo beta2 wall jumps actually feel random while the current wall jumps are quite adequate as you can expect what to get

multihit = random
b2 wj = random
random + random = not competitive

please keep the skill cap high..

i thought shootmania used to be an esports title but i more and more feel like it's becoming main stream rubbish

    Really? In the beginning when people didn't understand walljumps they said they felt random. Now that people have learned B2 walljumps (with absolutely no help from you guys because you don't explain how stuff work in your own game) I think you'll be hard pressed to find many players (atleast competitively) that will say they prefer B3 walljumps over B2 walljumps.

    If anything I think you're as usual pulling arguments out from nowhere to support what you already decided to do, namely lowering the skillceiling of the game to make it more appealing to casuals.

    And it's fine if that's what you want to do, but then you also have to come out and say that you've moved away from Elite being a "competitive esport title".

    Trilaser and a simplified movementsystem (both walljumps and microjumps) is all about lowering the skillceiling of the game.

    Casuals can still enjoy a game even if they can't get to the levels of the pros. Heck, I'm a fairly casual player and I love the game for it's B2 settings. I actually despise B3 settings. They're slower and more boring.

    And powerwalljumps? They're a joke. Just like every other B3 walljump it's the same end result nomatter what input goes into doing the walljump. Not to mention instead of you guys creating a special move to do them, they can only be done on a special block so you know exactly what will happen if someone walljumps on that block.

    In B2 settings you can walljump straight up a wall, straight out from it or out and up at a 45 degree angle all depending on timing and input. Which means the player is in control of his own actions.

    By taking away said control you leave less and less up to skill. Wave goodbye to a majority of the competitive scene after ESWC if there's a forced move to B3 settings and no major tournaments with huge cash prices are announced. (my two cents on the game going forward)

    Exactly. Might as well give players the ability to rain death down from above with helicopters after getting killstreaks.

    Gibson:I think that’s part of it. The game is kind of spoonfeeding them, and making them feel great when they’re not. And like I said, that’s smart business, and I don’t blame Infinity Ward for wanting to do that. They’re selling millions of games and they have lots of people enjoying it, but I think there’s a depth of enjoyment there that a lot of these players are missing out on. And when you try to get them to branch out, their knee-jerk reaction is “The training wheels have come off, I’m gonna fall!” And I hate to see that.
