Nostalgic? Sure, why not? I think anything from the past the makes you smile could be considered nostalgic no matter how long ago it was. It reminds me of when you could buy a game in a box at a store. Sure there are still a lot of them but they are slowly fading away. I liked being able to buy a game, install it and play it. Didn't have to go online to activate it, you could reinstall it if you had to without having to re-download etc...
...But what makes me call TrackMania nostalgic is that I remember looking for a good driving game with a track editor and there really weren't any. There were some with good driving but you could only build small tracks with very limited blocks or the opposite, a good editor but crappy physics or poor graphics. Then I found one called "TrackMania" and thought it sounded promising. I bought the game, installed it and found myself thinking, "Wow. Someone finally did this right!" It had Great graphics, Good physics and above all an awesome track editor with enough room to build HUGE tracks (as big as you wanted them) lot's of blocks to build with and fun to drive on. You could really let your creativity go wild. You could race online with other people or race against your own replays (the ultimate challenge). Plus it had many ways to play... Race, Stunt, Puzzle, Platform. It's the only game I've found with endless re-playability.
So, when I look back and remember that feeling of finding a gem... Yea, I find it nostalgic.
