Were french players such a huge majority in Trackmania? Then I wonder what they did different with the marketing of Trackmania in France.nikooo26 wrote:There was a lot of french TrackMania players before. Like me, they came on this awesome game.

Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
I guess french websites have been more interested into the game ... Cause there isn't much good french game at this time. You know, like a national pride xD
Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
The important TM and SM events are hosted in France.plopp wrote:Were french players such a huge majority in Trackmania? Then I wonder what they did different with the marketing of Trackmania in France.
Also back then TM was sold through retailers but SM is a digital game only. Not sure about that point but something they changed caused a decrease in sales quantity in comparison to TM.
Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
I would love to see some kind of cool tv-spot aired for atleast 30 seconds on youtube (ads).
Before you make more advertisement, I would suggest you having a functioning "interactive maniaplanet guide" inside the game, which shows the first-time-user what and how to do.
In the video, you should mention what's maniaplanet, which games are associated, the competition and the creativity. Also, you could mention the community; community is always good.
If done, more people will be curious about this game, making them maybe buy one or two of your games. We are already alot! Imagine if more people would come!
Also I personally wish more integration of Mania-Exchange and Maniapark inside the game. Sounds a bit flat, but there aren't really a lot of people who know about where to find resources or how to share them.
Greetings.

Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
SM looks waay too nice to not being advertised everywhere, make game more fun with achievements and few more stuff and viola! many many sales
Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
The problem is YOU ARE PRESENT BUT UNNOTICED BY THE PUBLIC. That makes your presence ineffective. If you don't make enough profit and don't get enough budget from Ubisoft to do proper marketing then clearly something went wrong in the beginning.Cerovan wrote:And as you may see, we are supporting several events across many countries and we are present on several shows/conventions (like GamesCom, Comic-Con, QuakeCon, PAX, etc)
We prefer to be present over the time instead of once it's better for the long-term. But we're working on getting more people on Maniaplanet, don't worry about that
So your resources only allow you to concentrate on DEVELOPMENT and small TOURNAMENTS now (even though it would be good to know what kind of role Ubisoft plays here).
From a PR point of view NADEO's pillar of success is the Maniaplanet community. For some reason the press not so much. There was simply not enough attention given. Why?
You can't brutally force interest in your game (you know that) but something has to be done!
How do you want to convince us that Shootmania won't be dead in 2 years? What are your plans? Stop being so vague with "we're working on getting more people on Maniaplanet, don't worry about that ". I worry and I want to know if there is a real strategy work in progress.
Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
There is a real strategy work in progress. And it is not vague to say it.I want to know if there is a real strategy work in progress.
As knowing the strategy, some steps and information will be done or communicated in the upcoming 40 days.
There has to be drastic measures, like eyebo says, that can change the situation in a large scale, and I will be ready to open a debate on this subject at that moment.
Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
Well actually it does hold up. French are by their very nature nationalistic and patriotic so there's no surprise that a game developed by a French company will be played by lots of French people. But there are also certain other aspects of this. Like I dunno, the media in France have probably given Nadeo and SM lots of free advertising and exposure just from mentioning the game and the company.plopp wrote:I actually came to think about this yesterday. How come there are so many french players in SM? When asking this question the immediate answer you'll get is "It's a french game". But that answer doesn't really hold up.pksens wrote:Whatever you did with the French market worked, you could say. They represent the majority of SM players and have a strong community as a result.
So, what did you do different in France?
And then there's the whole thing about once you get a certain size of a community, it starts expanding by itself, either through popularity or just word of mouth.
So the answer "it's a french game" does hold up.

Re: MORE ADVERTISEMENT!
This should probably solve the issue
Elite Demo is out + Chance to win Ps4
Now it's up to the community to promote this..
However, I've got a question to the elite demo:
How is the demo going to be restricted? Exactly like the ''Elite invitations''? How will this demo work? For how long?
Much respect for this great move from nadeo!
