[fixed]BUG: Maniaplanet cannot read hidden folder

Hello,

Today I tried launching Maniaplanet and I keep getting this error: http://i.imgur.com/zRfRFxg.jpg
Clicking "ok" causes Maniaplanet to crash: http://i.imgur.com/nmCJ0Mh.jpg

I haven't changed any settings since Valley came out (probably since 2012 actually when I optimised the settings for Shootmania).

The last time I launched Maniaplanet, a few days ago, I just clicked around the different game titles to see who's online, and played some Shootmania. Now I cannot even open Maniaplanet.

I tried deleting "default.systemconfig.gbx" and that didn't help. Also checked if it's read-only, but it's not.

Help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Are you running maniaplanet under the administrator rights? Did you try to reinstall maniaplanet to check if it fixed your issue?

Yes I tried under admin rights. I used procmon to see what's going on, and it seems that some files/registry items are missing when launching maniaplanet. :/

Guess I have no choice but to reinstall.

I reinstalled Maniaplanet and I'm still getting the exact same error.

Oh boy... So I "fixed" the problem. It turns out that setting folders in My Documents to hidden (in order to leave it looking less cluttered) causes problems for Maniaplanet.

I set all games folders (EA, Rockstar Games, Maniaplanet, etc) to hidden in order to see my work folders better.
Seeing that Maniaplanet was having access issues on the hard disk, even after reinstalling, I tried setting Maniaplanet to un-hidden, and it works without crashing now.

So it seems that Maniaplanet cannot read hidden folders....
