Choosing legacy car physics for compatibility of old maps

Post by Alcator »

Hello, NADEO!

Stadium car, as far as I know, has had at least 3 different "physics" / behaviors. The first time I noticed it to break down (on Press Forward tracks) was when TM:Nations was included into TM:United.
Then came the "Forever" update and it changed the physics again.

I have some old PF / PF-start tracks, and sadly, they no longer work in TM2 Stadium.

I wonder if it would be possible for you to include all the "physics" modes back into the game and allow map makers to choose which of those applies. Mostly, this affects whether the car is already down on its suspension, or if it "drops" on it when the countdown ends.

I know, not likely to happen, but one can dream, eh?

I think it's indeed unlikely to happen. It's somewhat less confusing for people to have only one gameplay available per version, so that everyone knows what to expect of the car depending on the version.
