Question:
Why is the lack of documentation so big?
Are they waiting for the community to fill those empty blanks filled.

What can we do with the ActionMaker? Make a weather system or pure bots following?

What will the main things be for the Gamemodes in trackmania through maniascript? What can we expect.

Re: Ask A Dev Event! Submit Your Questions Now!
Now that this game is becoming a bigger esports game every day I would like to have protection vs cheaters.
Hylis once said that he doesnt like to talk about the current anti-cheat because cheaters will use that information.
I understand Hylis, but gaming on a pro level with just someones "word" about AC makes me feel uncomfortable inside.
I wanna see with my own eyes that cheaters are caught.
My question:
What is currently done about cheaters? How are they caught and whats their punishment? Does NADEO help big organisations such as ESL to make sure their AC-software is compatible with the game?

The neverending waiting game has to stop.

Alright, This will be questions and suggestion, please take with a grain of salt.
1) Will there be achievements in this game ever?
-I feel this is a appealing feature to the casual gamer
2) Can you consider developing a single player tutorial?
-This I feel is a powerful tool (Can be incorporated into an achievement too!). For all new players on the NA server, they join Elite not knowing how the laser or rockets work. They do not understand how to sprint or wall jump and instantly get destroyed. This removes a large factor of fun and I feel this is one of the reasons new players are not sticking around. I understand there are training maps in multiplayer, that is great and all, but many individuals like the idea of a campaign to teach tactics etc.
3) The question everyone will ask.... Will this go F2P?
-Honestly, I think this is something that needs further consideration. I have thought of a couple ideas.
1a) F2P, custom horns, skins, and the map editor you need to buy the game
1b) F2P, force players to gain X amount of storm ladderpoints. Upon completion of this, it can unlock another mode. An alternative is to buy the game to unlock all modes.
1c) F2P for Elite, Royal and perhaps one other mode.
4) What is your 1 year, 5 year, 10 year plan for this game?
5)what are the top three factors you are happy with about this game? What are the bottom three factors that perhaps were over looked?
-This is an interesting question and I hope it gets looked into. It shows both how Dev's feel the game is successful, but at the same time identify some weaknesses. It will be interesting to see their thoughts compared to the general public.
Thanks for hosting this, I am excited to see the outcome of this and the results. Good on you for offering this session.

1) Will some of the poor physics and movement be fixed sometime in the near future? (If you need specific examples you haven't been paying attention)
2) Will the netcode be improved upon any time soon? More and more I feel the game to be unplayable and very unreliable >45 ping (>55 snapshot) with huge syncronization-issues between client and sever.
3) Why isn't Elite free2play yet? Make it a true Free2Play mode with map editor, replay editor, custom skin + horn disabled. Atleast that way people using the F2P-version will also be able to participate in cups and leagues. Forcing F2P clients onto matchmaking severly hampers growth (and I believe sales).
This wasn't even answered back then, so I'll throw it up here as a question yet again.

Yeah, this is something I suggested like half a year ago. I even suggested they could outsource it to someone from the community since this can easily be done within the map editor, and with triggers and mediatracker it should be no problem at all to make a simple tutorial that atleast explains the basic concepts of the game. This is something that would take one guy like a day or two to complete, and it would give new players such a better introduction to the game, making them feel more welcome and comfortable in their way into servers and actual play.Rogo wrote: 4) Can you consider developing a single player tutorial?

- Will custom object import be possible in the future for any title? (be able to use a custom object on any map without having to use a custom titlepack)
- Will there be multi-environment servers for Trackmania anytime soon?
Thanks!

I know this may not qualify as the type of questions you are looking for, but how is QuestMania looking? Any chance of a Beta being available before the end of 2014? and could I test for alpha?

Re: Ask A Dev Event! Submit Your Questions Now!
Hi, As a new player who has bought the full game, why, when I have been kicked by players of a higher echelon, should I then be suspended as if I have given up? As its a beginners server why do players who are higher ranked than me be able to kick me? Surely they should be on a higher rank server?

Hello, nice thread.
I will start with,
1) Why didn't you kept the Alpha GamePlay ? :p
Then,
2) P2P Netcode will be changed or are we all going to play an unplayable match if just a laggy dude has 100 ms ?
3) Trilaser would be probably a good idea, but can't be a good solution into the gameplay. It makes the stuff totally random and also buggy, since it's a mystery on how it doesn't hit even if all the three dots are on the enemy. This is old stuff, but let's fix it or just delete it.
4) Did Ubisoft prompted you to release the game before your estimated date? If so, it answers a lot of things.
5) There still are a lot of things to fix in the competitive (Elite) Mod. Are you working/Are you going to work on them right after the ESWC?
6) Will Ubisoft going to support this game in term of eSport events ?
I haven't read all the other questions, since I came here just to write mine once, hoping Nadeo will answer them all (even if I probably already have the answers of some), since I rarely post on this forum.
Thanks If you will.
I'm a big fan and supporter of ShootMania and I'm sorry to see (a lot of) people leaving the game.
Peace,
Frank1e.
