[FIXED][TM2] Crashes on launch, maniaplanet goes unresponsiv

Steam version, so far I've tried run as admin, reinstall, verify cache, using eset interactive mode nothing pops up so its not even tryin the firewall, but i tried turning it off just in case and no change, the game when started gets to the mania planet window and where it should say connecting or ask me to login like it does in shootmania, it just locks up and goes unresponsive before anything pops up at all, just the blue mania planet screen, and unresponsive after a second or so.

also tried launching it from shootmania but when it goes to restart it just starts it up and it locks up the same way. Also the process isn't endable, i can close the window by ending the process but it leaves a copy of it running that says access denied when i try to close it, i tried to cmd taskkill it but it says there are no instances of it

Normally it should trigger the firewall check at the first launch.
Which firewall are you using?

Then, a common issue is that Internet Explorer is in offline mode.
Please start IE, and try to connect to www.maniaplanet.com to make it online.

Then ManiaPlanet should run.

IE is able to connect, i made sure the proxy settings were set to auto as well. As for av im using Eset internet security, it has an interactive mode that whenever anything tries to go past the firewall it would pop up a prompt for me but I'm not even getting that, i think the problem is the steam version. I used the installer from the player page and installed it elsewhere and it seems to run fine. Launching it via steam, or via shoot mania from steam makes it lock up, i tried turning off the overlay but no luck, just in case i turned off the cloud stuff, the auto updates. Cant figure out whats locking it up still.

Did you check in the firewall software if Steam and also ManiaPlanet are allowed or blocked there?

Could you check if there is a crashlog file in the ManiaPlanet folder in your documents folder?

Configure ManiaPlanet first, and make it run in Window, not fullscreen.
And then please describe how far it gets.

Also try to run ManiaPlanet with Admin rights, and compatiblity mode Windows XP SP3 if that is possible with Win 8.1

Looks like i fixed it, i had to reset my av to default, apparently some old rules and exceptions were conflicting with the game and it was just autoblocking it before i even saw it, all good now though, thx
