I'm afraid fake players are starting to run out of control.
The current top valley server is filled with them: http://i.imgur.com/OiXbh4o.png (probably just to increase the player count)
Even though it's sad that it happens, worse is that it's extremely easy to do using a simple xml-rpc method.
Simply don't count those fake players for the actual player count, it's going to be abused soon or late -- or wait, it's already being abused -- since it boosts the player count of your server quite a bit.
Also, SetLobbyInfo's information is insanely easy to spoof as well (or basically it's easier to spoof then to pass correct values), consider accepting an array of matchmaking server logins. The sum of all match servers + the lobby server = player count. Obviously make sure that the array of logins are servers owned by the owner of the lobby server and then hide those from other listings.
