as long as there are enough mods to delete the spam... they don't need to do anything :?

Just create a own captha, for example, type maniaplanet backwards. Since i changed the captha on our website to something simular (who is the clanfounder of LYNX); i never had any 1 bot who could register ;)
i think 1 tiem a real life spammer who understood the question XD - and this was offcourse easaly undone :P

I agree that adding a Q and A in the registration is a simple and effective solution which prevents a lot of Spam. We also had a lot of Spam in our forum and since we add a Q and A in our registration the Spam is gone.

I've changed the captcha for a quite simple question, we will see if it improve anything.

Finally! Thanks :thx:

Did you change it already before you posted your message here?
Because there were still new spammer registrations, e.g. GilbertBog from Burma, today 13:04
and Bernieoa from Japan :?
After that only 2 new members without details (could be spammers as well) joined, now its calm.
Let's see tomorrow again :)

Luckily the amount of forumspam is heavily reduced.
Unfortunately its not 100%. I have allready seen some "high tech" forum spam about certain movies we should watch.

The Q and A is now the question: are you born before or after a certain date.
Both enters will lead to the registrationform, so perhaps a question where only 1 answer is possible will increase the succesrate of the q and a anti-forum spam.
Maybe something like Weerwolf suggested would be very sufficient and is able to increase the succesrate to 100%!

Good luck!

well, I would say the amount of spam is now back to "normal", 20~30 messages still had to be deleted today. :|
We certainly still have some sleeper accounts that registered already a while ago, but it's difficult to say which one is spammer or not :?

Yep. And that will sudder for awhile until all 'sleepers' are eliminated too.
