Why can't organisations such as leetgamerz, esl and krazy users etc all work together instead of doing the random s^%$ they are doing now? at the moment we have an esl cup and a leetgamerz cup on the same day (sunday) and now we have awsomniac cup and a leetgamerz cup on the same day. aswell as this we have like 3 french only cups a week. can no one else see how idiotic this is? all it achieves is more dropouts and forfeits as teams sign up to more than one cup and can't play 2 matches at once. sort it out plz.
p.s. im aware maniaplanet and nadeo is not esl, leetgamerz, krazy users etc. thanks.

Re: Cups and Organisation within the Community
I agree with you but I would like to add that the LGZ cup on Sunday is later than the ESL cup.
This means losing teams of the ESL cup can still sign up for LGZ ( which isnt rly a bad thing? )
Also that aws cup is planned over 2days. All teams that lost day#1 are , probably, playing the regular LGZ cup we have every Tuesday. So its not rly thaaaat bad.
Maybe you didnt know this info and you got frustrated?

Re: Cups and Organisation within the Community
I am aware of this information but it pans out as follows.
Most teams, as priority will sign up to ESL. Some of the teams who expect to get put out of ESL early might sign up to leetgamerz. Not a lot of teams will sign up to leetgamerz and NOT sign up to ESL. Ergo, everyone signed up to Leetgamerz will be signed up to ESL, but not everyone signed up to ESL will be signed up to leetgamerz.
ESL on a good day usually takes up to 6.30/7 CET to get underway and have the first matches in progress (brackets being released at 6 CET) so the first teams (maximum of about 10-15 accounting for BYE's) to get put out will get put out about 7CET on AVERAGE. Assuming ALL these teams signed up to leetgamerz, even then you will only have 15 teams. Basically you end up with a cup like this (last sunday's leetgamerz cup) http://www.leetgamerz.net/fr/tournament ... ventID/597
with 8 signups. Does 8 signups constitute a successful cup? it almost looks like a waste of time (of the admins) to me. Wouldn't it be better held on a separate day to all other cups? saturday maybe? where EVERYONE could signup without having to have ESL in the mix aswell...
Also what way are these cups advertised? I very RARELY see a cup advertised on IRC and if it is, it's usually by yourself (novation) and not by the cup admins. are players just supposed to telepathically know there will be a cup on watever day or do french people just not care whether people play in their tournament? Sure theres the facebook group (a group which very few ppl are in compared to the number of players in sm) but why aren't the admins spamming my IRC and SM full of signup links? if I want to play a cup I usually have to find it MYSELF, how is that a good way to promote the game/tournaments? it just doesnt make sense. Maybe the french have a different way of doing things and if so, please enlighten me

Re: Cups and Organisation within the Community
Well I agree with you, as I said before.
However I dont rly think that IRC is something for 2K14
The channels on IRC are getting more and more empty by the minute. I dont like it either and I love to use IRC, but I dont think its the perfect tool to advertise new or upcoming cups.
We have the group "Shoot Info" on FB which creates an event for almost every cup. Im not saying this is the best solution, but if you"re in the group then its pretty hard to not know about those cups.
On top of that we have Shootmania.org which covers cup before and after they have started. But this website is in French :/
About LGZ, I think its stupid to have cups on the same day and I already spoke with the admins. I came to the conclusion that LGZ doesnt really like ESL and they wanna compete with them. ( which isnt that smart imo) So they made this decision on purpose and I dont think this is going to change any time soon.
This game is too french and when we finally have a good EU cup ( ESL.EU) its getting competition of another French cup. This is just stupid and I'd love to see this change. LGZ should host cups on Mondays & Tuesdays, not on Sundays.
The game needs to stop focussing on FR and should start to expand in Europe with english as the main language. I love the work of all the frenchies, but nobody outside France speaks French. If the game wants to grow it needs to be English.

International gamers please have a look at http://mania-actu.com/

Mania-actu doesnt cover even half of all cups, so the website is useless. ( no offense, but its absolutely true )TMarc wrote:International gamers please have a look at http://mania-actu.com/![]()

Re: Cups and Organisation within the Community
There were plans to coordinate the big TMNF tournaments between all competitions, wouldn't work out. Plan was to schedule ESL's big tournaments back then (Competition PremierShip/EMS and Speed PremierShip) so TMM, TMT and STC/NC would fall in between two seasons, having a nice coverage of longterm competitions the whole year.
They initiated, set up a Google Docs Calendar, entered dates upfront, etc. NOPE the others wanted to compete with them instead of cooperate. They said this wouldn't work and ESL was just dreaming of an ideal world.
As an example I'd like to bring up DOTA2 where this is actually working out nicely (most of the times) - There are 3 or 4 Starladder seasons a year, one usually taking about two months. There's The International (hosted by Valve) in End of August/Beginning of September, and inbetween there's smaller stuff like Dreamhack (a week) - MLG TKO (8 weeks?) and the MLG Pro Circuits (one weekend per event), also stuff like The Defense, D2L and D2CL inbetween and during same times. What's the difference?
There's usually at least one competitive match a day, especially during groupstages maybe even two matches a day.
Why can't we do the same in ESL, TMT, TMM, STC/NC? You can train your maps a week long once the mappack is released, lets have the same map for groupstages everywhere. KO Phase, next mappack, used for next two playdays, etc. Always a week break between. But you can play more matches, tournaments don't get elongated artificially and teams can actually get more "professional" which in return would attract more sponsors, more players, etc because they see that we have a healthy eSports scene.
Same thing for Shootmania, the mappools don't even change as often as in TM² -> more matches can be played.

I agree 100% with both of these statements. atleast there are people out there who feel the same as me. The situation at the moment only helps to further divide the community and although I like leetgamerz cups myself, I totally see where you're coming from novationx. Please change this and think more about the community rather than some personal vendetta.Chris92 wrote: As an example I'd like to bring up DOTA2 where this is actually working out nicely (most of the times) - There are 3 or 4 Starladder seasons a year, one usually taking about two months. Well ,
I'm Florent "FloAtchoum" Comte, representing KrazyUsers . First, it is true that the ESL LeetGamerZ and ourselves are Krazy competitors. It is therefore difficult to envisage a correlation between the dates of the tournaments . In our case , Krazy for each new tournaments we go out , we try to place on a date to interfere as little as possible , but it is not always possible. The goal of each tournament organizers is to spread as much as possible , it is impossible to consider a long-term agreement . But others , multiple tournaments can , I think , promote the development of the game itself . After that, it is true, nevertheless , that the community ShootMania is not yet large enough to be divided into several tournaments per night. But we can not afford to refuse partnerships and sponsors that provide us with additional tournaments. It is with this that the game still life ! I understand your point of view, and I share with my colleagues Krazy . From our side , we will continue to ensure the least possible to walk on the toes of others, but it will be less and less feasible .
Regarding ads tournaments, as has already been said , the Facebook group ShootInfo is very well done for that. Furthermore, I am convinced that the respective Facebook groups tournament organizers announced their very own tournaments. If you do not have facebook, it is true is IRC is a parallel way , but we do not necessarily think there ... Do you think a newsletter system ( by email so ) would be a good way ?
We are open to all suggestions and proposals and are ready to change our habits for the good of the game and its community !
