tried that. still get the same bad image error as stated prior in this thread.

And have you tried the debug version ?

Debug version of ManiaPlanet ... http://files.maniaplanet.com/debug_vers ... t_logs.zip
Simply extract it there ManiaPlanet.exe is located, and start it there. It will create logfiles at every start, filename contains date and time.

yup, still get multiple .dll errors.
anyway, i've pretty much given up on the game lol

Did you really (re-)install DirectX9? Or do you even had installed the DirectX SDK (then switch to the retail version)?
Any DirectX Wrapper for older games?
Something is obviously buggy with your system.
The question is if it is the game, Steam or something else.
Perhaps you did not install everyhting with administrator priviledges.
Or your antivirus is blocking the access to some files (check if it shows some alerts, also in its logs).
