Maniaplanet Update #3 information

I hope to see more players return to MP after the Maniplanet 3 update!

I am pretty sure that this will happen. More than anyone might ever expect and thanks to the laborious, hard work of the nadeo crew, the creative part will rise once more. Victory & glory for the creative scene!!

I am sorry, I watched too many films
Too many emotions come up when I realize that the next update is so near...

I don't want to spoil the fun, but the update might not be so near as you think.
It's first going through a betaphase to get all the bugs out of the program...

Unfortuantely I am aware of that, but hopefully it is worth the wait if it brings back the community.

I know that the update isn't near, but compared to how long we've been waiting (about 8months) for this Update so far and how long we still have to wait (about 1-2 months), it's quite ''near''
Personally, I expect to see the release in May, due to the beta bug fixing as you mentioned. Just to clarify: My fun is still there

Usually, independend of which genre the game belongs to, if a new update is released, nearly all old players will come back to try the new features. Especially, when it is a big update with a bunch of new things to discover and use, the impact will be even bigger. But, however, people will probably lose their interest or play less if the update is out for more than 3-6months. That's naturally.
So, I would rather prefer the question: How LONG will the people stay? This question might be more appropiate

But, as optimistic as I am, this update is going to be a big success and will attract old veterans as well as new players. Just imagine new maps with blockmixing or completely new modes / titlepacks which used the powerful Acton maker.

So i guess i'm not in the first wave... but hey, that's what i was thinking. The reason for this is maybe that i'm not that important (i'm unknown at nadeo or got ignored from the community (but that's an other (mx-)story))...

I hope that other important players (in my eyes) are invited, like xymph, slig, reaby, oliverde8, kremsy, steeffeen, w1lla, TheM, matrix142, tgyoshi, MrA, eyebo... these guys need to know what's coming next to update their work...

These sort of things make me wish the closed beta would've been done in silence, like normal.
Now you're getting people who want (and maybe also deserve in my eyes) to be in the beta, but aren't ...

I personally find this not true. Your input in the community is hugely apprieciated (at least by me - I'm using your XAseco2 plugins, not all but anyway... ^^)!

If you are not invited, don't see it as that you're not important enough. It could be that there are already quite some people invited who have the same "expertise" (with in this case dedicated server/scripting I imagine that it's quite some). You might also see for you(/me ?) complete strangers, who are there to help test out new gameplay, etc.

(But if you're not in the first wave, you might be in the second wave - no idea/promises, I know as much as you on this matter ^^)

Don't think you're ignored by the community.
I and i think many others have huge respect for all the people doing the hard work "behind the scenes"; that are busy writing scripts, plugins, programms; keeping community sites up (MX, Carpark, TMTube, Serverviewer, Dedi etc etc....), and organizing tournaments.

If you're a skinner, mapper or making videos you always get more feedback. But the community wouldn't work the way it is without all you guys providing the very base of it... and i think most people participating in the forums are knowing this.
It's way harder and uncommon to actually show appreciation for the kind of work you do, but the appreciation is definitly there, believe me

+1 for the three previous posts.. undef.de would be a great candidate as well. I've helped him troubleshoot some XAseco plugins in the past. He's very active in the community and adds some awesome features to XAseco. Don't be surprised if you do get invited at some point.

So did the beta officially start this week, or was it being pushed off until next week? I must have misread something earlier on in the thread, but I thought it was getting pushed to start next week.
