Trackmania 2 paint editor glitching out, missing textures?

Hi, I've been playing Trackmania for a while now, and recently purchased TM2 Canyon. I kind of got out of my Trackmania phase for a while, and now have gotten back into it, thus leading me to purchase Canyon. I was having fun with the game, enjoying the the ramped up graphics and new physics engine, when I decided to download and paint a new car. I hopped onto Maniapark and got myself a new car and locator. I went back into the game, purchased the car, and then decided it needed a new paintjob. I liked painting in the previous titles, so I thought it would be easy. To my dismay, I opened up the Editor section, clicked on paint a car, selected the new one, and clicked paint. Here I was presented with a black screen with the car's model in the center, and little blobs of color here and there. I'm quite disappointed and would gladly appreciate help. Did you ever paint your own car before?

The painter is very basic, and it needs lot of training to achieve good results.
The more professional like artits use external image processing tools to paint their skins.

For the integrated painter, the workflow is usually the following:
1. select and load skin (car model with textures)
2. select and apply base color (this is what probably happened to you: you chose black as color) with the color fill - be aware that this "erases" all previous stickers and other effects!
3. apply color with pen or other shape tool
4. apply sticker
5. apply shadow and dust layer
6. save your work as new skin

I have painted a car before, but not in TM2. Like I said, right when I got this game, it didn't work. I've tried validating the cache, reinstalling, etc.

I'm sorry, I think I misread your comment. What you see in the screenshot is what I see when I click on the Paint button. I can click the invisible buttons and they do things, but I can't see them, which is kind of necessary

Are your graphic drivers up to date?

Actually, I don't think so. When the game runs a scan before the launcher opens, it can't find anything, but the game launches anyway. It's strange, though, the rest of the game work perfect. It's just the paint editor being weird. How would I update my drivers?

To update your graphic card driver:

Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.‌

In the list of hardware categories, find the device that you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Very strange. Are you using a laptop that has 2 different video chipsets (e.g. Intel HD3000 or HD4000, and AMD Radeon Mobile or nVidia Optimus like)?

Alright, I figured out I have an Intel HD 4000 graphics card. I only have one, and it was already up to date when I tried to update it. Any other ideas?

Which memory amount is indicated in the options of Maniaplanet (look in the launcher)?
