Hi all, have downloaded some new mods for canyon, but when you go onto the new map editor it asks you for the day setting click on the map you want and up comes a list of the mods, click on the mod you wish to use and it asks you
for the URL have tried every url I can and it keeps coming back with wrong url message, no understand is it me or is there a URL you must use to use these mods ?? any help all thx.

some mods you have to pay before beeing able to use them, it is possible that the online planets payment system is not working at the moment.

The url might be a https url, use http instead (just remove the s), otherwise post the url here so we can try it.

not being familiar with using URL, I thought that once you had downloaded the mod from maniapark it was just a question of giving the right path to find the folder that contained the mod, ie personnel files\maniaplanet\skins\canyon\mod or am I completely wrong sorry for being thick. If you have to use http do you have to go to maniaplanet first and then your files or how doe's this work ?? Thx.

I'm curious to see how this works out for you. I'm not an online player and only connect to update the game. I've downloaded several mods and some other packs and installed them but obviously couldn't use them until I went online. Next time I was online I tried to use them but needed an account or user password or something like that which I don't remember getting and basically just didn't care enough about it and gave up on it.

As I worte above, some mods need payment, and for this you need the validation code (5 characters).
It doesn't matter if you got them via ingame ManiaLinks or if you have downloaded them separately.
If you have forgotten it, you can get a new one on the player page.
Another example: if you download the title Raid, it contains several mods, which are free of use inside of Raid.
But as soon as you want to create a new map, let's say with the regular Canyon title, and try to use a mod that came with Raid, you have to pay a few planets once for each mod you use.
It doesn't matter if you got them via ingame ManiaLinks or if you have downloaded them separately.
If you have forgotten it, you can get a new one on the player page.

Hi all, I have noticed that the mods are now downloaded auto on the start up screen, when you download a mod the directory it goe;s into is maniaplanet default and when you start the game on the start up screen wait until it shows that you are on line and the mod downloads well sometimes ?, I downloaded the bridge truss and the only time it downloads is when I go into create, pick the tracks you want to play press launch and the bridge truss downloads before you can play ?? wtf is going on, most mods do not even download but your planets keep going down so you must be paying for them and they must be going somewhere. They don't appear in the mod files or any other and there is nothing when you make an advanced map, anybody else had this problem.

I honestly don't understand your second question, but I can try to answer your first one.
If the mod "icon" already shows up in the list of mods to select, you shouldn't need to enter a url at all.
I'm not even sure what the url box is for, to be honest. I've never found a satisfactory explanation of what it is on the wiki, or in the manual (TMUF manual, since TMUF had the same feature). It seems that either you enter the url of a mod, or sign, or whatever and the game downloads it for you, which would be silly because if you know the url it would be much faster to download it yourself -- and you've probably already downloaded it. Either that or you enter a url to download the mod you've already selected, and the game creates a locator for you. But from what I've read I can't for the life of me tell which one it is.
