I am very amused by Frostbeule using the word unity here when he just want to forbid us to do any competition happening on TrackMania² Canyon. We have host another Nations event in France less than two months ago, and it is just purely normal that we host a racing competition to promote the arrival of TrackMania² Canyon. If he is unable to see that TrackMania² Canyon is a racing game and that competitions is just logical, than it is quite useless to talk.

We are really not trying to make the Nations eSport to go TrackMania² Canyon, we are just supporting a game that we are currently making and will release. Making a free game for eSport was already a big work and major support from us, not doing the promotion of our upcoming paying title would be quite strange in addition to this. It is incredible how negative FB can be toward the developments from Nadeo.

like i said, it's not about whether you are hosting a tournament or not. this is about forcing a game to become an esports game. i mean it's not like you are just having a small tourney at dreamhack. it got lots of prize money and also it will be played on the main stage infront of ALOT of esports fans from various games. what's the next step? getting it into WCG aswell? since it's SUCH an elegant way of promoting your game. like i said, don't mix things together.

well atleast that's great to hear that you don't want to kill of Nations. Tho allow me to still have a healthy skepticism towards anything you say (the freezone comes to mind) like i've said many times: i am not negative towards TM2. i just don't want you to screw up something that is very beautiful that you already made.

I dont think Frostbeule is worried about the comunity. But if the sponsors see Trackmania 2, they won't suit up Trackmania Forever. And If there is no professional Top, there is no community.
Also I dont no why Trackmania 2 is called Trackmania 2 ? With the information I know at the moment, It is more like NFS with a Editor. I'm just pissed of that TM2 isnt building a Stadium envi or an Addon, like in TMNF/TMUF. That was perfect. I dont know many people in TMUF, who are playing or building good Bay Maps for example.

Because you insult people, like you do with me, without your real name and you don't apologize to me or others. When you insult me, my name is known, so I think it is better that we talk as people, not nickname, when it becomes like that. You say you want the scene to be better, and it goes with better behavior, with assuming your name.

Your name is given when you win competition, I think it is rigth to give it more often, even including your team would be better in my oppinion, but I don't want to cause any damage to the other players from your team. Even if you probably include them in "the esports community mainly consists of very young people with very low morals. " since some of them will participate to the ESWC as your primary point of debate when you said this.

Fishmac, sponsors will go where there is audience. It happened with CS 1.6 and it should happen with the most popular TM as well. Surely, they will prefer nice picture like TrackMania 2, but that's part of the game, not part of our action. By saying that TMNF is perfect, you are making quite a compliment, and I believe that the "Forever" quite stand for it. We have spent so much time, and 800 times more than the Dreamhack cashprize to make this version, I think this version deserves to receive the recognition that we did A LOT for Nations! Now, it would be strange to avoid making any new TrackMania because of this, I hope you agree with me on that.

And since you say there is nothing more to TM 2 than TM 1, I don't even see why bother (that's a joke off course)

For me, it is like Olympics, you have racing on the race track, in water, on snow, on bike etc. There is not a pie to share, but a phenomenon to grow, thanks to the combined efforts from everybody, not seeing others positive action as a threat. eSport (also) made TrackMania to what it is now, so we/you should continue with that in TM2.

the audience is at Nations. don't you realize that Nations was something special and unique? the audience is not going to go away from that unless you give them something that is basically the same ala BW SC2. but TM2 is not the same.

now this is where the core is. you really don't see that TM is 2 different things. 1 is the people that came with TMO and TMS. they wan't different envs, like triathlon basically. THEN, there's the stadium and esports crowd that came with TMN. these people see stadium as the main game, and the other envs as bonus material. they don't want to play triathlon. you see Trackmania as 1 thing, others see it as another thing. you have to realize this.
