Re: What new Environment would you like to see?
how about env where we first form the terrain in non "block placement grid" way, and then if we want to place a road (already in block grid way if needed) the terrain will update itself? (if we want road on ground), maybe the sand dune env would be good with such feature

That could be good. Really get in and shape things first... Sometimes that can provide a good inspiration for a map.
I like the ability too to import a bitmap file as a heightmap for terraforming too. This way you can import geoligical data of an area you want to emulate or create hills and such from a picture. I've made some cool terrains from fractal drawings that way in other editors.

You can create that with an imported Item if you know how to do.Demented wrote:I like the ability too to import a bitmap file as a heightmap for terraforming too. I´m working atm at an "hill climb" style object > http://www.maniapark.com/forum/viewtopi ... 50#p199650
But it´s just in early stage, "grayscale to height" technique is one of the possibilities which are working for objects like this, but there are also other techniques which can be used to do a hill object which uses less of verts for a good performance

@ Nerpson:
Yea, I guess you're right. I'm not sure I'd want to take the time to do it that way though.
@ Xrayjay:
Impressive.

I would have thought of something from the dakar rally in that kind of environmentNerpson wrote:That is terrible! It would be amazing!bobbotheclown wrote:i personally think a dunes environment would be amazing.
with a buggy, that handles like an extremely faster version of the snow car, maybe huge chunks of rock prodding out here and there as a map hazard
has to be a small buggy, sort of like the honda odyssey fl250
Maybe an example:

Crashing happily since 2009.

Seeing those open dunes makes me think...
An option to choose from several preset environment shapes/sizes would be cool. IE: 32x32, 24x40, 16x64, 12x80, 8x128 or something like that. This way if you wanted you could make long rally runs or mini bajas.
