Game key problem

Hello there,
i have a problem. I just recieve my copy of trackmania 2 staduim as a gift in steam. I installed the game and start it. My friend which gift this game to just make an account to try the game, but when i try to log with my account it says that my game key is already been used . Is that mean that my game key is associated with his new acc and i cannot use my own acc ?? Sorry for my english skills.

Normally, the CD-key is automatically assigned to your Maniaplanet account, as soon as you have created one. Did you close and restart both maniaplanet and steam?
Try again tomorrow and please report if the issue still persist or if it is working properly then.

i only restart the game, steam is not restarted. But is that mean that i cannot play with my old acc and i need to play with his new ?

Which old account do you mean!?
Maniaplanet has own accounts (additional to Steam).

Let me try to explain the situation again. I have my own OLD maniaplanet account. Today my friend gifted me the game "Trackmania2 stadium". We install the game toghether, and when the game was started for the first time my friend greate a new "maniaplanet account" and login. When i try to log in with my OLD "maniaplanet acc" it says that my game key is already in use (i think its used with NEW maniaplanet acc which my friend greate" So my question is : can i play my game with my own OLD "maniaplanet acc" somehow?

Thanks for the explanation, it is more clear now.
If the new game was started first with a new account, then its game key is also assigned to that new account.
You simply should have used your existing (the old) account.
But now it is too late.
You can try to contact Ubisoft support to see if they can do anything, but I doubt it.
