Changing Car Model

Hello, I have been trying to change my car's model for quite some time now and have not been able to find the option to change the car skin in game. Could anyone direct me to how it is being done? All I have found online have been outdated videos posted 2+ years ago with the old look of the game.

Please first place the skin in your Windows documents/ManiaPlanet/Skins folder, in the subfolder of the corresponding title.
Then start ManiaPlanet, enter the title where you want to change the skin, and here you can go to the profile on the left side of the screen. Now click on "Models", and select the skin.

The special TM² mulitplayer title allows you to change the skins to be used for the actual titles (Canyon, Stadium, Valley).

And that's where the problem starts, I don't see a "Model" button to click on my profile at all. Is it because the multiplayer option for "Custom Models" is off? If that is the case then there's something wrong because I can't turn it on.

Do you have a valid key for the game? Meaning you're not using the free demo version only?
Besides this there are two places where skins can be put:
Skins\Vehicles
Skins\Models

I bought the game on Steam a couple of years ago. This is by the way Trackmania 2 Canyon we're talking about.

Okay, there should not be any difference actually.

Did you see - and also allow - the recent updates of the game?

Please check again: start Steam, start Canyon, click on "Profile", then "Models".
There should be at least the preset skins there...

I am on build 2014-07-04_18_16.

There is still no "Model" button in the profile.

don't go into Options on the left -> Profile... press green Enter on station, then profile, then there should be Models.
