But the firewall is only one step of the few you have to do here.
May I remind you of the port forwading in your router?

You did not read the part just above (in both the wiki and what I wrote here).
Look again which ports should be openened... btw. you can see them also in the ManiaPlanet launcher application -> Configure -> Advanced -> Network.

Add four of such application profiles:

Application Profile name: ManiaPlanet_UDP_2350
Protocol: UDP
Port range: 2350-2359
Application type: which choices are there?

Application Profile name: ManiaPlanet_UDP_3450
Protocol: UDP
Port range: 3450-3459
Application type: same as above

Application Profile name: ManiaPlanet_TCP_2350
Protocol: TCP
Port range: 2350-2359
Application type: same as above

Application Profile name: ManiaPlanet_TCP_3450
Protocol: TCP
Port range: 3450-3459
Application type: same as above

The port ranges because in case you would run a server on your machine, or you would need to allow more ports.
Of course you can also just use the port 2350 respectively 3450.

In order to make this work, your router might need to be reset (then also reboot your PC).

no, no, do not use FTP, because this is another and special application of internet protocols.
