To bad, after entering a map editor with installed mods the problem is still there...
EDIT:
The 11.07.2014 build completely reads in all Mod ZIP files only while entering the map editor (so you can select one while creating a new map).
The current builds reads in all installed mod ZIP files while starting the game (and again, while entering the track editor).
After applying the workaround described above (temporarily renaming the Skins or Mod folder), no Mod ZIP's are read in while starting. But if you enter a title, the Mod ZIP's are now read in (and again, while entering the track editor)...
Until now the Mod ZIP's are again read in while starting the game... So the workaround is no workaround.

Re: Maniaplanet 3.1 RC6
Also got the issue with Maniaplanet starting up really slow. Sometimes it takes up to a minute to show the login screen.
Re: Maniaplanet 3.1 RC6
1 minute? That's really bad, it doesn't happen to me. Max waiting time is 10 seconds or so..acceleracer_01 wrote:Also got the issue with Maniaplanet starting up really slow. Sometimes it takes up to a minute to show the login screen.

Re: Maniaplanet 3.1 RC6
Have you installed lot of Mod ZIP's under the \Documents\ManiaPlanet\Skins folder?
If yes, does it take also much longer to create a new map with a Mod using the editor?
If no, there must be a different problem...

Re: Maniaplanet 3.1 RC6
So here is what I have,
Documents/ManiaPlanet : 1.2gb
Documents/Skins 60mb
DOcuments/Packs 900mb
I don't have a lot of skins, and I don't have a lot of space so I tend to keep my cache size under check. It is at nearly 4gb not more. and all this is in an ssd, on which windows boots in 15 seconds.
The issue seams to come from Cache & skins

Re: Maniaplanet 3.1 RC6
Hi Hylis!
I am still stunned about the last quick fix about custom objects ...
you and your team did a great job of this bug on a FRIDAY .. everybody wants to go home ... i know that .. and it worked perfectly .....
Ok im not only here to soft-soap you
I worked on my title pack and "LOST" my file hoster ... well too much downloads of my title pack
...
it was a "FREE" file hoster with "UNLIMITED" traffic .. but after 1 GB they closed down the links
So i started to try to "update" my old tracks .. and it was a pain ...
The .loc files are very usefull but if you want to update an old track, they are a pain in the ... sorry
E.g. if the name of the mod or the music is the same, nothing is updated in editor even if you recalculate shadows and save map again ...
So my whishes for the next release: (HE*S GETTING TO THE POINT ... ELO)
1.) If you want to change mod, click on a button and enter URL
2.) If you want to change music, click on a button and enter URL
These two things will already help ALOT for keeping tracks up to date ...
And two other things i came aware of:
1.) so my file hoster didn't host the mod and music any more, i put it into the title pack ... works perfectly in SOLO mode but on server you got sometime the mod but never the music ...
2.) i already mentioned that in an old post: if you CHANGE the camera before FINISH in mediatracker ... you don't see your time and track starts immediatly .. in SOLO and on server ... best to be seen in my Title Pack "Maximum 30 Seconds", Green Tracks, "Tribute to TMX"
Im there since 2003 "Original" and i will die with TM ... its a perfect piece of software and a perfect team of developers ... never seen such a bug free beta ... ROFL .. just kidding ...
THANK YOU
