What happen to the signs? Some signs will work but then others (mainly the arrow ones) will not. My friend has a clean install of tm2 so i'm not the only one noticing it. Both of our maniaplanet installs are fully updated and nothing is disabled within the settings, everything is turned "ON". We both are using fiber connections and the ping between us are 110ms of latency so it can't be a connection issue. I'v tried it in Lan and the editor already and get the same thing.
Yes, the maps were more than likely ran using the blockmixer(the custom one) but it usually doesn't have any effect on billboards, just removing and adding blocks. Some of the billboards are being used by a link to show and download but not all of them were, some are using the default signs and still no picture.
My specs are: EVGA 550Ti 2GB of VRAM and 4GB of system ram with a C2D E6550 cpu.

Re: Billboards
Ones that require you to download via links? Their not them, they are the default ones
Re: Billboards
As hackie said, support has been dropped for those signs.
I have the same issue getting no display. 170 pages of signs roughly, which some day I plan on removing the broken ones when I open the editor, but that would require closing the editor.....
There are 100's of signs that still work check the media section of this forum or mx ....or...if your crafty, make your own.

Re: Billboards
Thanks. It seems as though the entire maniaplanet is dieing. Now that most of the support has gone, people have gone.
My friend hosts a server over in netherlands on a fiber connection sometimes and the last two times he hosted, no one new joins, just me and him and another friend and that's mainly it.

Most of the support is gone ? What do you mean by that ?
Nadeo is on vacation

And its summer , so most of the people are not that active ( was always like that back in tmf )
Dying is maybe not the right word, more and more people loose their interest of playing this game.

That maybe true but the majority has just merged over to maniaplanet's different games(shootmania or valley). I've seen more activity in valley than canyon.hackie wrote:Dying is maybe not the right word, more and more people loose their interest of playing this game.
As I said to my friend, the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADsMXKVEi5s
Shows proof that it's possible some of the support is gone. The game is getting old and the video card company's slowly loose support for those games(keep in mind that the game is getting old too). When updates for maniaplanet or it's games get released, it's getting released for the entire interface and it's newer games(valley, stadium) so not much change or improvements to it's older/other games unless i'm wrong here?
I might be just over exaggerating but the same thing that happen in the video I post here in this post is the same thing that happen to me in a totally different game called far cry 2(3D type just like canyon) and occurred with my friend and I don't think it's a hardware issue. It might be the hardware is out dated but can still run it smoothly or that the game has simply lost most of it's support, therefore i use the phrase "most" since the game seems to be still obtaining updates like new items and such but not fixes unless it's the video card(as already said).
Re: Billboards
yah, thats really annoying, I dont know why the forced switch from bik to webm.
I can understand if it was needing to show support for a better file format,
Yet how much more does this inconvenience others to prove what, is it really necessary?
Not only that, I'm unable now to even use webm, no support? because maniaplanet is saying
unknown file extension on a webm format?
Whoa, really bad..
I understand the frustration.
