I converted purifications menudesign into a manialink with animations and pictures for a demonstration.
You can find the manialink under menuartwork
Its not finished yet but i can set this as a pre-release xD

The design feels nice indeed. Titlepacks should be listed somehow to be accessible in one click instead of clicking all titlepacks which are before the needed one.
Current MP interface while improved doesn't look quite good and finished. As pointed before it even has layout inconsistencies. It is sad that UI is low priority. If to take a look at Hawken for example the UI looks polished and professional. Maniaplanet on the other hand - not so much.

Looks good, but why a calender? ( not a bad idea ofc )
Would be cool if cupadmins,lanadmins,nadeo & others ( friends ) could post stuff on it.

The calendar is actually a pretty great idea.

ManiaCal
You have a calendar full of events every day and week! And you won't miss one. Players can go to player.maniaplanet.com and set their own events.

e.g.:
Banner: (WEBM or Picture as a big header for the info page and 256x256 logo for menu)
Eventname: WEEKLY EXAMPLE RACE
Where: (server login)
Regular: YES or NO
(if Yes): Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su
(if No): Select Date from calendar
Time: 22:00 Timezone: (dropdown) GMT --->this will set the right time for every player in the world.
Public: YES or NO
(if yes) Registration Link: (optional; if blank, this line wono't appear)
(if no) Spectators allowed: YES or NO (if no, streaming link to twitch e.g. should be allowed to post)
Info: (textbox, for own information, philosophy and rules)

and for the viewer, there should be a "participate" button on the bottom of the eventinfo page (if public event).
The moment you click participate, your friends can see that you participate when looking over the events.
Sharing the event over your personal page should be possible too1

If this is implemented, the gaps between trackmaniacs will finally close more.

Yes exactly like that, in the calendar you can see all upcoming events and stuff, nice and easy to use.

I refined the design a bit:


Now theres a game switcher in the middle where the games can flipped in a circle to access em
Possible is here that the background image changes the color which matches to the game which is selected (should be red here, cause storm is selected^^), or like in tmu, the bg image changes the color in matter which daytime is.

May the tiles down left are not that good, have to think. But there it´s possible thing that you can place your own "hotlinks" to packs etc. for a quickstart or something like that, these two basic tiles are steady and some others can be placed by the user?

I rly like everything, but the middle thingy, the game-changer... I dunno. I think it can be better... dunno how tho.
