Cool title, but I got an issue. I don't know if it's due to my low graphic settings, when I restart a map in your solo campaign, the game crashes and this is boring. Also, the replays seems to be delayed from the real time run, other people had mentioned that.

With a little more fixes, sure this title will be better. Great job!

Bug known : in solo campaign it's not possible to restart a map (because you need to play all the maps of one edition)
Opponents : they start a few seconds later than the player because (especially in cam3) otherwise it is nearly impossible to play in the ghosts

:thx: djhubertus (it was not possible for me to answer earlier)

In the solo campaign you play not one or a few maps but a "Raid Edition" (for ex from Luanda to Maun). An edition is 5 maps. You're only able to play the maps together one by one and you can't restart a map. If you quit an edition you have to restart a edition from the beggining. For each edition you play against 10 players and their replays (their chronos are real but replays start a few seconds after you because of visibility). After each map you can see ranking. In Raid it is a time ranking. At the end of an edition you can see total time ranking and also the number of map victory for each player. I think the game save also your best time for each edition.

:pil Good luck, have fun ;)

The maps are great and I love the racing. But the things I dislike now are that maps are locked away in the current setup. Meaning I have to play through some maps to get to the others and don't have the ability to start the one i want. For example, to play the 3rd map in a series of 4 I have to play through 1 and 2 first (each and every time I play?). It's also kind of frustrating because of the nature of the maps, the way they have random obstacles, difficult or awkward jumps that can ruin your run. Like, you can't just practice one of the tracks a few times at your lesiure. Also, the map page for race selection loads very slowly and it transitions into the race so slowly that a few seconds pass eash time before I can even start racing. (And I can't restart without crashing because of the bug). All in all, I love the tracks and the racing is fun, but the setup is frustrating because of the slow loading and locking out tracks behind others. Perhaps it's my location, but I'm also not seeing any servers up.

I don't want to sound like such a downer because this Titlepack is truely fantastic. But the setup doesn't seem casual friendly enough for me as I don't play Valley much in the first place.

I understand what you write about the way to play. It's different ;) It's difficult for a TM title pack to find a different way to play and i try with the time ranking. I understand it can be a bit frustrating (and it take time) but this is a part of Raid spirit  The goal is more to have a good edition (5 maps) chronos than for only a map. And people who made replays played maps only one time (sometimes 2, expect me  ). To be performant on a edition, players have to be fast but also "secure" ;)

To play map by map i think the best solution is to play online. But we need servers... Viok team had a Raid Valley server but i think they have some server problems right now. But because i understand some people could want to play in a other way (and also to discover maps in editor could be useful to know how to put some objects) :
Maps : http://www.archive-host.com/count-24653 ... eyMaps.zip
Maps with player replays : http://www.archive-host.com/count-24653 ... eplays.zip

If you got the map in /maps it could create some problems with the solo campaign...

Concerning "slow" loading :
Solo Menu is a very light map and a few .png file (so you don't see the map). It is "light" and all the stuff is in the title so loading time should be short and depend on your PC. Maps can be big and with objects so it could take time to load. But it depend also of your PC. For me it's not very long.

Thanks for your comments :thx:

Edit : Play a map in local seems to be complicated :? It seems to launch the solo campaign script... So if you map to play a map better to test with the editor ;)

Well, I've been playing a bit of this last week, and the only route I haven't completed yet is Indianapolis to Minneapolis. (Mainly because of the Ice at the start of that one) The only maps I was any good at where the balance beams on the Jungle one (I forget the geographical locations) which basically meant I was able to keep up with New Era on the first and last maps of that route. The rest I just made too many mistakes having driven it for the first time, but that's the nature of rallying blind without pacenotes. ;)

Speaking of which, the way it's cumulatively timed over the 5 maps really makes it feel like a proper rally. I often tend to fall behind the other replays towards the start, which helps as I can follow some of the shortcuts that they take.

As for not being able to restart the map...Sometimes I fail the first map really early on and want to do the whole rally again, but to do that I just exit and select the route again. It takes some time to load up but in all honesty I'm a patient guy (You have to be in a Nadeo game) so this doesn't bother me.

The maps look spectacular; using a bit of intuition, as well as following the signs and massive "CP here" markers in the sky, I managed not to get lost for the most part. Only thing I didn't understand is why one of the desert routes has a snow map in the middle of it? Thematically didn't make sense to me.

But overall I have to echo what everyone else has said; great job.

Thanks for your comments :)

Concerning desert dirt roads it is not snow but it is a salt/sand mix. The dirt road are uselly in the forest. In Desert Valley mod, forest is like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sossusvlei trees and salt lake in Namib desert. I think in forest dirt raods fit well. But you're right in sand it looks a bit strange :? . But because i didn't want to use many textures (for file size) i have to use it like that. We can imagine behind the yellow sand you can have white sand and salt. Or raod users put a bit of white on the roads. And also with vehicules it changes the color of the road. It's not perfect but it can be acceptable ;)
