American version website has less on it?
Okay, what gives? <_< Compare here with here and you'll see some slight differences. The UK version of the site has got all sorts of cool features--and more media on it--even several hints to a "Coming Soon", which implies the release of Valley. The US version? No such luck. Two trailers. Five screenshots, all of which had been seen myriad places before, and no media browser, or really any features to speak of. The funny part is, I'm taken to the first website by either going to TM.com or TM2.com, but I can only get to the -better- website if I know the link. I'm assuming because they're localized by region. But my point is, if Ubi/Nadeo are trying to draw players in from the US, giving us a cheapened version of the website isn't going to cut it. Don't know if they just haven't gotten around to it yet or what...but personally, I'd rather see more features than bigger pictures...

when you take a look at for example http://trackmania.ubi.com/trackmania-games/en-GB/home/ you will see that US doesn't even exist ( you can change the language by clicking on the flag. Maybe US is currently under development, that could explain the different look

Exactly. That's what I was going to say: it doesn't even exist.wiidesire-2 wrote:when you take a look at for example http://trackmania.ubi.com/trackmania-games/en-GB/home/ you will see that US doesn't even exist ( you can change the language by clicking on the flag. I'm wondering who is the US page moderator?

Re: American version website has less on it?
Well, that's strange, because they have the same hyperlink format--which would suggest to me that they're intended to be linked--at least at some point--but this is the start of what I mean by Ubi not sticking with their customers. I'm just hoping (sadly) that the idiocy sticks to simply having a sad site for the US version--and not into any squelching of Nadeo...

poor americans

Re: American version website has less on it?
Granted it has less content on it, can I say that it looks far better than the others.
No poorly cut off images and low quality radial gradients. The US site has been optimized for large displays, where as the others haven't.
Anyhow, it's probably an unfinished site, perhaps even a prototype for the future. Can tell this by the HTML comments.

And the hidden 'Read More' links to /the-cartel/en-US/news/index.aspx.fastforza wrote:Anyhow, it's probably an unfinished site, perhaps even a prototype for the future. Can tell this by the HTML comments.

Seriously, Ubisoft is a big publisher, with somewhat separate marketing/PR departments in the US and Europe, and it's not uncommon for such publishers to create different game sites for the same title, because of the way they believe how to present the game to those audiences. So don't look for a conspiracy or anything,

The /the-cartel/ are links from the Call of Juarez site if anybody is curious, the site HTML has been copied.Xymph wrote:And the hidden 'Read More' links to /the-cartel/en-US/news/index.aspx.fastforza wrote:Anyhow, it's probably an unfinished site, perhaps even a prototype for the future. Back on topic. A plus +1 to Xymph on that.
