Answer: "No it's gonna be a closed beta first, i think. I'm not sure exactly about how they're doing it."

They ask if there is an open beta, but the answer is, that there is first a closed one and they don't know yet about the rest.

Developed by Nadeo, and published by Ubisoft, TrackMania 2: Canyon’s retail release date is set sometime in September 2011 for the PC. A closed beta is set to open this July.The open beta will be available in late July or early August.

Sounds interesting, but let's wait for an official announcement

Edit: Had a closer look at the article you are referring to, but don't think that this one is well investigated. This is, because they talk about the block import, which isn't a part of the game yet. And they talk furthermore about weather customizations. Don't know if they mean day/night/sunrise and so on, or if they really talk about rain and fog. Probably not, but this article does not look good ^^

Also you don't know who said the word open beta. Even if a developpers said it, the word "open beta" doesn't give the confirmation for an open beta

I thought they were auto-generated. Ok I was wrong then. But your own subtitles aren't better because they only show what you hear or better what you want to hear. I don't trust them as well
