Why we don't create a little signature with the hashtag #saveTrackmania?
Every person in this forum can put it in his own signature section and maybe this has an affect on the Nadeo developers.. (only one idea)
Or get a lot of server owners together and ask them to change the name of the server for one week (maybe also #saveTrackmania)
For more information we need a link to a well written post in this forum, in which all players can read the newest information about the lack of players..

only a short suggestion. ;)

I literally laughed to that number sign (nowadays mostly called as hastag I guess). Where would you put that tag? Why would it help at all?

This topic wasn't meant to ask users how to help TM get players, more like a message to Nadeo that they need to act if they want the game being played around the little competitive circle still in a couple of years. But I'm very glad to see that others want TM stay up as well, so of course anything you can do to it is great, even though I don't believe they help dramatically ^^

At the core of all this... people aren't going to play unless they WANT to play. There only needs to be two things to get people to WANT to play.
First, they need to know it EXISTS, and second it needs Irresistible Content.
Sure you can chase a fish or two into a net, or even snag a few at random with a hook, but it's a lot easier to lure 'em in with something they can't resist.

TM is and has been my favorite game for years and likely will be for years to come, so content and lags in production aren't really an issue for me. However, to get and keep new people in our community I think it needs a bigger "WOW" factor and I'm not sure what that is but, it isn't more clutter. One of the biggest issues I have with TM² or MP in general is that it doesn't feel nearly as user friendly as it use to. TM, Sunrise, Nations and TMUF were simple you purchase the game, installed it and played it. Much of the new content I've added doesn't work correctly or is unclear how to use...

Wormii, got your point, but I think this message has been adresswd to nadeo all ready a lot of time. They don't need us to see that the game is dying, theirs players stats speaks by themselves. And also the demo release, they understood that there is a enormous problem today, with their main title.

So the message would be : work on your advertisings.
But if we are talking about community advertising, that's is because nadeo failed to answer this issue.

I personnaly think nadeo is still a small studio, but now that they have been bought by ubisoft, they have to spend their all time to debvellop news title and respect theirs engagment to Ubisoft with the maniaplanet project. So no hard work on advertising.

Ofc if that's off topic wormii, pls free to ask to create a new one for it.

Not offtopic, well said :)

I know they have already done their best, but since I saw that Ubisoft doesn't even list TM as their game, it doesn't make me feel comfortable at all to be honest.

Demented, you are right as well, TM needs a new wow effect. At least RPG titlepack imo is a wow effect. Also some (TMNF) PF maps are. Those could be used as a catch to new players maybe. But well, I dunno what more to say. I just hope Nadeo really knows the problem and is still searching a solution :) I trust you guys!

The WOW effect has to be something that every gamer can see. On popular gaming sites or team sites. The only way to get on that kind of website is to gain a huge visibility with big events. If TM² can get in a DreamHack alongside Lol and CS:GO again, there would be news poping everywhere. I also think TM² can be very spectacular as broadcasted event, and that's the way to do it. The only streamer i know for playing TM is a french one (zerator, he even organized a cup on stadium 1 y ago), who is known and popular in fr community, but i don't think he pushes viewers to buy it. Maybe play the demo, but not that much more.
And about the lack of fresh blood... f2p. What I mean by that is not that TM should be a f2p, but that f2p are more attractive than TM. The reason i discovered TM is.... i don't remember, but that was with Canyon release, i probably saw a news on a french website and made: "oh, an arcade racing game that could run on my computer better than needforspeed". It interested me only cause i liked cars when i was younger, and it gained my fidelity, and because there was a demo version of tmnf. But we won't get any news players if they don't find a correct reason to spend 20€ for a game, hen there is tons of others that are free and also have infinite content (MOBAs, yep). I got attracted on LoL by friends, but i know i couldn't catch them and make them play TM, I already tried and they just said they had no time to learn another game. I have no idea how many time i spent to become "that good", at least enough for my friends to think playing in hotseat boring cause i would win or troll. We need a great and well-known structures to get a team and carry the game to the top (well, acer is, but only on sc2 and TM², i think of LoL/Dota2/CS teams).

I think that they should come back with the refreshed environments from tmuf in one single pack at reasonable price, throw it to shops in boxes (maybe with canyon and valley), advertise it good and we'll all forgot about this problem.

No, I doubt that it would solve this issue. What Trackmania needs is something refreshing, something completely new, an ''evolution'' to attract new players.

Trackmania Nations Forever achieved success due to several reasons:
- The social aspect I've mentioned earlier which was mainly caused by the mass of players
- Competitive environment (not a lot features, only reduced on the very neccessary things)
- Gameplay was easy to learn but difficult to master
- Nadeo's clever game concept of ''Player creates content'' so they don't need to push new content within regular updates. They were able to save a lot ressources (time, money) which could be used for other stuff.
- The simple but powerful track-editor:
That was the ''Wow-effect'' for nearly everyone out there who never heard of Trackmania's previous games before. Building your own tracks which would be played by tons of people on servers or even on competitions. That was ''the evolution'' which attracted a lot of people. Furthermore, the map-editor was fairly easy to handle which made it even more popular.
- On top of all this, the game was free to play and the access to the game was there, unlimited

In fact, not everyone joined TMNF due to the map-editor, they probably only wanted to play competitively. It depends on what each player wanted but a considerable amount of players were simply amazed by the fantastic map-editor. At least in my opinion, it was ''the evolution'' and one of the core reasons (besides the social aspect) why TMNF succeeded.
TM² needs a new evolution. Embedding objects is great, developing your own TM-modes is great, playing every 2 years a new environment is great, but Trackmania 2 needs a new evolution. Somebody could assume that all these new features which I mentioned in the last sentences is the new evolution. Well, to a certain extent they are. But today's playing community is hard to please because firstly, the gaming branch has gained grand popularity since the last decades and thus, more games with great content are on the market. Secondly, developer studios realised that Nadeo's concept of ''creating your own content'' is very popular and they implemented in their games too. So, Nadeo's concept isn't very unique anymore and they shouldn't rely on this advantage any further because other companies do it as well.

However, Nadeo got my respect to manage with their small budget to become such successful.
I admire them for creating such beautiful games as well, so I'll stay here. But, as I probably said 100000x times, Trackmania needs something completely ground-breaking instead of releasing new environments which will be most likely characterized by empty servers (as titlepacks) as Valley with its mind-blowing graphics and car physiques has proven, unfortunately.

If Trackmania has reached this new evolution, then I would suggest to focus on advertising by Ubisoft as well as by the community (streamer, You-Tuber etc). At least it's my opinion.

Regards,
Soprah

Everytime I try to promote this game to a friend or another forum, I always get the same responses

"The game is split into 3 environments and each are expensive? That killed the game for me"

"If the game would be combined I would buy it"

"20 dollars for an environment? Haha what a joke"

I believe one of the big reasons why the MP games are low in players is the fact that each environment is separated, if new environments could be just added as updates on the main game this woudn't be a problem, and I can't even explain why they should buy each title since all of them works the same but with a different car and environment.

Sometimes I share this feeling. I had the exact same reasoning as you before.
The neverending waiting game has to stop.
