I recently booted up TM2 again because it's been a while. In all environments in the day time, wherever there would be full sunlight, I instead get this weird shadow pattern ( http://i.imgur.com/LApcS7b.png ) . I've tried messing with graphics settings, and I can't get it to go away. I have also updated my graphics drivers. This problem didn't exist the last time I played, and I've made no modifications to my PC.
Any ideas?

Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
Interestingly enough, trying to compute shadows of any quality simply makes the game freeze for a few seconds before returning to the editor with no visible change. It never shows the computing shadows progress screen at all. Hmm.
Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
Did you delete/clean the cache folder already?

Where is this cache folder located / how do I clean it? Or is this the same as "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam? (Which I already tried)
Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
You can do it with the advanced configuration in the launcher dialog, then go to the "Peer to peer" tab, and there is the button "Clean the cache".

Unfortunately, this didn't fix it. Any other ideas?
EDIT: I've managed to fix the graphical issue by reducing "Shader Quality" to Fast. However, I am still completely unable to compute shadows, and the game looks significantly less pretty. I'm beginning to suspect corrupted files somewhere, but that's an annoying fix because I own Valley and Stadium through Steam, and Canyon standalone. No idea where to start with reinstallations.
Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
Which PC do you have exactly, especially which video system?
Make sure the game uses the proper vide chip if you have more than one (e.g Intel HD and AMD or nVidia).
If this is not the issue, I suggest you reinstall the game.

Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
That makes no difference you can add your standalone key in Steam and you can install everything in the standalone version the games are unlocked on your account. Personally i would uninstall steam versions and install everything in standalone with minimal setup.Koba0100 wrote:I own Valley and Stadium through Steam, and Canyon standalone. Re: Strange graphical bug (Trackmania2)
I've done a full uninstall -> re-install of all my Maniaplanet titles, and the problem persists. I can make the game look correct by running on lower settings, but I still cannot compute shadows, and therefore cannot make playable maps.
I'm using Nvidia Geforce GTX 580 card, and I have been for quite a while. This problem never existed before now, and I've changed nothing in my computer since the game last properly worked.
