Deleted posts that were just quotes.
It starts to be not amusing.

I guess "+1" might not be directly considered as a smiley, but I feel the meaning of the rule is also applicable in this case. Though, you are right that it's not directly mentioned in the rules.

As moderator it's also our "duty" to keep this forum and its topics clean and the discussion healthy.
I feel that by removing the "+1"-posts, the topic can get back on track with what it was about.
Actually, I totally agree with the admins on this case and would have acted directly the same. If you feel like, you don't have anything to say about the topic except a "+1", then simply don't post anything. If you feel like there is some point that is important, writing 2-3 sentences explaining yourself isn't so hard and it gives the discussion some more depth. It also invites other people to join into the discussion if they see that this is an active topic were multiple people are expressing their opinions.
If you want to add to a discussion, then do so. But by spamming "+1" and quoting the previous poster and so on, you don't add anything towards the original topic except stretching the useful posts of the discussion over multiple page, thus rendering the discussion impossible.

Of course you can do this in the offtopic section, but it still needs to contain a good topic name, if you are following the rules. And about the general forum rules. Actually, if you would check specific the regulations on this forum you would realise they are not really rules. It doesn't say anywhere "you should do this, you should do that". It's formulated as a plea "please do ..., please don't"
The rules are of course not so strict and regulated for each specific case, because this forum should develop a community that is not regulated, but uses the forum to interact and share with each other in a grown up way.

If then people come like "

they would get an instantaneously 2-3 day ban from me. I mean, the moderators are only people committing their free time to help this community. They are not paid by nadeo, they just love this community so much that they decided to give something back. And even they can have sometimes a bad day or can overreact, but contrary to other normal forum users, this usually happens rarely. Exceptions are if there is one similar case is coming up again and again over the years or if people pushing the moderators limits by putting oil into the fire. It might be this people enjoy it, had a bad day or are simply trolls, but never troll a moderator as he has usually the means to react to it in the way he and the moderator teams seems to fit.

Just my two cents. Enjoy reading it.

a thumbs up button would be very useful for posts, that way the thread wont get spammed with '+1'´s and its easy to see which post has many people who think the same

I agree with that, it's a simple and quick way to show support for something.

My two cents worth on this topic: If I agree with something I prefer to say "I agree" and usually a "here's why" with it. It just feels more sincere to me. I don't know that I've ever said "+1" just by its self. I get that people are often in a hurry though and want to quickly show support and move on but if you really agree why not take the time to say it and add a simple "why" to the topic.

+1

This discussion about logo was the more interesting part of the topic. Because it's the only real part we can discuss. The first question was : do you prefer 3D emblem or 2D logos and the best way to answer was +1. Then if many people are interesting by this subject we could maybe get informations from Nadeo about their logo strategy, or about Stephane Sommer work. For sure, we could learn things about TM story but now... Pfffffffffffffffff...

I tend to authorize "+1" only if the opinion is a bit more developed (except in Off-Topics threads of course) because the term is a bit vague. It's way more interesting to know what is exactly your thought instead of just agreed on another post (which may not be exactly what you think).

But some things are simple opinions where many people have the exact same opinion. How to show support then? If there is no visible support it might seem like people dont like it

The issue i have with the "+1" is that it tends to incit people to simply add a +1 post without comments and then to have pages with only +1 posts. In that cas i prefer to see a poll than "flood" the forum with +1 posts.
