caspa fragvideo #2

Post by caspa »

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yl4Dnc ... e=youtu.be

this one is quite different in terms of music - i wanted to put some fast paced stuff in this time. didn't really manage to get the quality how I liked it but it seems good enough. unfortunately a few of the replays are noticably laggy, nadeo never got back to me on that.... so i just made it anyway. would have been nice if they were smooth.

edit (wanted to add some more info in): so my idea with this video was to do pure frags like before. thought it would also be better to put in some indicators of who each shot was on too, so hopefully people can see the level of opposition. on my last video people accused me of just putting matchmaking rounds - there were a lot of MM rounds in there but the majority were from serious praccs/cups.

after eswc I liked verdis commentary and luckily I was able to grab some of the replays from the moments where I felt I did good, and I always like frag videos with commentator audio in too so this was my little version of it.

there wasn't meant to be a last part of the video but I heard that track (its a remix of a tune from Chrono Trigger) so I had to find some extra replays to make it :D

but yeah, I'm not really gonna be playing SM anymore (at least competitively). i'll probably still log on from time to time when I get bored but that will probably be it. i need to finish remaking my obstacle map and i'm thinking about doing a little video of me running that too, so expect one more video from me in the near future :D

anyway, let me know what you think about le video.

caspa fragmovies = best fragmovies
First grand puba, now epmd? :1010

Now seriously: I really like your clean style. You can actually enjoy the frags without being too distracted by the editing. I wouldn't mind some more effects, but it is fine the way it is.

Cool to see mostly full attacks and some rocket frags, too. The eswc parts with commentary (probs to verdi, he did a great job) were awesome. Maybe the ingame overlay would help here to capture the tournament feeling and suspense even more.

Really good frags and nice editing.
I loved the first one and the second one is equally amazing. Waiting for part 3

hehe, I have quite an eclectic music taste. i'm not sure everyone else will really like the first track of the video but its my favourite band of all time and when I was listening to some stuff to try and pick the tracks I just knew I had to use it.

honestly, I wish I was better at editing. I really should have got some newer software (still using vegas video 7) but I'm comfortable with what I know. I really had a lot of ideas for some cool, subtle editing but when I was trying to create them they didn't really come off how I intended. also, I didn't want the video to try and be something its not. I like subtle, minor editing on videos and if I started doing some crazy shit then it would have conflicted with what I wanted the video to be. i like simplicity I guess

I have pretty high standards when it comes to frag videos on this game. also, my idea of a perfect fragvideo is something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxROFSalk9E . I grew up during that era of gaming and people weren't really that great with editing compared to now - when that fragmovie came out (about 10 years ago now) it was like the pinnacle of editing for me :D

I'm pretty much done with SM now but i'd definitely like to make another video again one day.
