Dedimania Problem, music box question

Post by Dutch »

Hello :)
First off, hope you all had great holidays and are off to a great new year!
2nd, awesome job on the controller, the interface is smooth, lots of space, and in fact easy to use :1010
Loving the dedicated server management from within the game!

i just have 1 problem, i run my server (CanyonExt) with Dagoberts Canyon Extension Title Pack, Dedimania seems to function properly under Xaseco but the admin menu shows that it's not compatible with the title in eXpansion
The Dedimania Plugin has been configured properly as far serverlogin & dedimania code goes

Is there any work around for this? Some of the players are rather keen of the look but like me, dissapointed of there not being a (working) dedimania plugin

My question about the music box: by the look of the testfile, that's going to take alot of time to convert :(
Is there no way the music box could do anything with tags like <song>blabla.mux</song> or reading the folder content on a specified path ?

@Reaby Killer tunes :thumbsup:

Keep up the awesome work :)

Hi Dutch,

Let hope this year be better than previous one, as my dad always says when the year changes :D
and nice to hear you like the plugins :)

This is a known "issue" and indeed like endbase replied I'm aware of the problem.. The problem actually exists only newer server controllers using the new Dedicated API -version to communicate with the dedicated server.
A method (getServerPackMask) has been deprecated for the new api, why it works on xaseco... is that it uses the old dedicated api :)

I also opened a kind of request towards Nadeo at this forum topic some weeks ago :)

I could fix the issue by adding a new titleID to packmask rule for the dedimania plugin... but we (slig (from dedimania), undef (from uaseco/records-eyepiece) and me) have been seeking a solid solution already how to fix this in a more generic way. We've have some email conversation about the issue already, some solutions we have thought of, but we have not come into a single decision on what "route to choose" to solve the issue, since it is in the end sligs' decision, and currently I'm waiting for a reply from him.

there is a very simple musicbox manager app (written in .net, with source code) located at:

Code: Select all

expansion\Tools\MusicManager\MusicboxManager.zip
maybe you find it useful, though it reads only "*.ogg" files from the given directory...

Thank you for the quick response :)

Guess we'll just have to be patient as far as dedimania goes

I found the tool for the musicbox but it's still not going to work for me :(
It seems to list from local machine just fine, but no options to set a path for a webhost which is what i would be needing

All in all, it's a very nice controller, and once dedimania gets sorted i will be using it on my server
The music will most likely be lost, but most people play their own anyway, so its not a huge deal

Keep up the great work, you guys have done a awesome job so far !
