Objects and CTDs

Post by polk »

Hi all. Firstly sorry for my bad english, there is more people here so i prefer putting all the odds on my side.
It's my first time in mapping and i have already a big issue.
Everything was fine untill i downloaded Stadium blocks packs by xrayjay and used them in "free" mod. I don't know how to call that, when i clicing twice in the objects heading and can put them where i want. So i made a tunel but ctd happened about 2 minutes after, and same 3 times. Never directly crashed but always after a few of minutes. The fourth time i relaunched mapeditor i tried to put my car in the tunel, was fine, but after 30 seconds all my computer crashed...
I hope someone can help me, put objects everywhere you want is so usefull to improve mix-mapped blocs.

Edit: For the moment my map stopped craching for no reason, seems like random...

hm, seems to me more like a performance problem than a problem with the items. As tipi said, could you tell us your pc specs and your settings in maniaplanet?

Can you play maps with custom items without crash?

Thx for your replies
Ye i can't play in these maps without crash and my settings are in full quality.
Nothing else is running in the same time, but sometimes some system32 process are making slow down my cpu.
should some custom objects in all "custom positions" never be a problem ?

my config :
GTX 770 2 Go
I5 3570K
8 Go RAM

How can i had a crashreport in my post ?

if you have a crashlog, simply upload it to a cloud storage like DropBox and share the link here.
Even better would be that you try the same with the debug version (see the link in my signature), as it creates a longer logfile.

OK thx for information, for the moment it stopped crashing. I have just saw the "free mod" for objects that I mentioned earlier is the "ghost mod". But now, even with ghost mod there is no problems for the moment. If it happens again i will post an extended crashlog here.

Edit : since some days, there is some bigs rectangles green or white that randomly appear on my screen, it's arrive always multi and solo, all kind of maps. It just appear during a split second, very fast but annoying. Does anyone know that ?

could you perhaps try to catch a screenshot?
Maybe you can success with a recorded replay, and moving the time marker to that place?

Um.. do you see those rectangles on Desktop also ? if you do, ensure you cable is not dirty on the plug, make sure the screws to maintain it in place are greatly screwed-in. And make sure your connection between pines and plug is WELL done. Also, try placing differently the video cable. that sometimes help.
