objects green boxes remove and axis of rotation

Post by ogami »

Hello i have two questions:

Still using the maniapark object collection, i use the transparent pipe sections (see image).

They are great for very high speed tracks (800-1000km/h). But their placement is quite hard.

The first problem is that unless you left click to place the pipe, it is displayed in the green box and as you can see on the picture...well you can't see anything!

When you leave the pipes horizontal like on the left of the first picture it is okay because there's an automatic snap but when you start tilting them occurs another problem: the axis of rotation is not lined up with pipe's entry center axis and thus the pipe is offset (on the second picture the bend pipe is offset relative to the straight pipe).

By tilting the different pipes and/or exchanging the entry pipe with the exit to make to connection you can align them but sometimes i feel it is impossible. And the green box makes it very hard to see if it has worked or not.

So i have two questions:

1/is it possible to hide the green box?

2/is there any mean to alter the center of rotation of the custom objects?

Thanks!

Yes, this called "pivot points". If I remember right, you can switch "center" via "num enter". But this will be work if only developer of this object made many pivot points for this object.

UPD
Oh, now I understood, that you mean about "green boxes". You can't switch off it. :(

Hello harrison,

thanks for the pivot points tip, unfortunately either this is not the "num enter" key or dag@bert objets do not have multiple pivot points :(
