Login vs. Nickname

Post by Jet777 »

And i'm back again with another stupid question ^_^

When I got TMU 4 or so years ago i picked a dumb login name that I don't really like anymore... my NICKname is jet777 now but that obviously doesn't match the name that appears on tracks I build. It's a little annoying but I've been able to deal with it :P

Anyway, when TM2 is released and we're all making our accounts, will it be connected somehow to our previous login? Because that would mean i'm stuck with '013' again

I may well be that you will be able to connect account as in previous versions, however you will also be able to create a complete new one a the risk of losing any login bonuses like we get a present

Not sure, where your problem is. Simply create an offline profile with the name you like. Create a track and save it.

True, this is the most efficient solution to deal with this problem atm.

But maybe other people want to change their dumb login not only for maps signatures but also because they are kinda ashamed of it (i'll not mention the logins of some teammates for the sake of decency!). In this case, that's not only in the maps they want to change their login. For login bonuses, i believe the bonuses from TMO/TMS for TMU worked even if the logins was different, provided that the player linked them with the correct passwords.

Close matter: For players who have well known logins and who want to keep them, will a way to book a login before the release of the game be provided? It could be ridiculous (even if funny) to see a newbie taking first "Frostbeule" as login, for instance.

Another very similar problem I (and many other players) had in TMUF was a defaced login. I know so many that have logins like _w_i_f00example. I have my real name as a login because I didn't know 3 years ago that I was unable afterwards to change it.
But I understand it that you have "one" personal login, I guess so it's easier for Nadeo to handle everything.

Just wanted to say this. Maybe, for the new players, it should be clear in TM2 that you can't change your login afterwards. Maybe so less players ruin their login with some colour codes or something like that. ;)
(ofc only when this system is handled like in TMUF).
Inactive at the moment...

yeah i do see '_f00' in logins a lot, quite sad actually :P

Perhaps entering color codes will change too, and that will be just another thing to wonder about...

well maybe it might be possible to show the nickname under the trackname and the login . So if you race a track online and the builder is driving on the same you can immediatly see that this person created the track without comparing the logins.

i hope you know what i mean. though jet777 is still right with that account booking (e.g. frostbeule).

in the version we played at E3 there was no place on the UI online that showed the author's name :S

But i believe there was in solo
My Favorite Quotes from the Nadeo team at E3:
Jeryo: This is my track!
MrBoB: Dancemania coming soon!

You Jokers! Had a great time with all four of Nadeo's team that was Present!
