TheM, it's exactly why Maniaplanet is in evolution that Valley and other things have, for me, a good future. Look at the 6 other environment of Trackmania Forever, and it's hard to say that they did not suffered from competition, internally with Stadium, or of other games in general. Valley is in the same case, in addition to be still under developped. We are doing our best, the Trackmania API is improving for creativity and we just showcased a new environment. Our plans can not be revealed fullly for many reasons, like the ones that prevented us to talk of the console version sooner (Oh, they did not showed Valley, does it means that the environment has some changes? can I talk about it already? Can I say that I can not talk about it? etc.) The fact will be that Trackmania is going to be under the spotlight a little more this year, and that's cool for me. Meanwhile, it's true, we are even working more and with more people on Trackmania for Maniaplanet 4, and that's cool for me. After, I don't see why there is so much stress in all of this. We are here to have fun, we work hard and we love Maniaplanet even more than anybody here since it's our life fulltime. So, I think there is a lot of negative reactions that are useless and still spliting much more the community than anything else. I love the fact that Dirt exist, and it's not a problem for me. It's as simple as that. I am happy of RPG, Nascar, Stunts, Stadium F1 and everything else. I dont think you should be unhappy for what does not exist yet or what could potentially happen before it happens. Trust a little more the people that decicate their work to make things as best as possible and enjoy! And it's does not mean that we can not try to explain and have debates, of course! But not with the negative spirit. We are not here for that.

I guess I'll just wait and see if what you say will come true.
Time will tell if it works out :)

I at least wish you all the best in your development, I've pre-ordered Turbo already, so I can't wait ^^

Whilst the Hello Planet bla seems to reveal absolutely nothing and seems like some way to calm down the community, I'm still quite excited about TMT. It looks much more modern and unified, much more like an actual game. And it merges all environments :D.
Lagoon looks pretty cool.

Most of the commerce-related questions are "Buy TMTurbo-Get X for free?". What about vice versa? I imagine there are quite of few (myself included) people who already have invested 50 dollars/euro by buying all the TM² titles and are looking forward to TM² Lagoon. Isn't there anything planned for them to make TMT look not like a 40€ investment into a new platform and UI?

Call me greedy and whatnot, but something like an "upgrade fee" for the ones owning all (or most of) the TM² titles would make more sense...

I am going to continue on my negative streak, I will even be very negative but at the moment that is the way I feel. don't get me wrong but I have the impression you simple ignore some of the topics. No offense meant, I might just be wrong.

The size of the team has been increasing the last 5 years nothing new.
Hylis wrote:+ There is a new environment coming, as well as many updates for Maniaplanet (including a big API improvement for Trackmania future)
We have been waiting for 3/4 years now. Multi title was a great addon to the game but it wasn't anything exceptional we already had that on TMU.
Hylis wrote:+ The audience is 50% higher than a year ago in a super competitive area and without major updates
I must be living in the wrong timezone, last time I played I was on the most crowded TM2 server and we were 7. wooow that is a lot of players. 2 years ago in valley I found servers with more players. All those players are probably playing Stadium.
Hylis wrote: + It is sure that Trackmania Turbo will bring more awareness to Trackmania.
Yes but not to TM2, if MP was a complete game with a big community there could be a different argument. but the only environment with players in MP is Stadium. They have just bought a great game with 4 titles why would they buy MP that only has 3 with ontop of that missing blocks. I have the impression things are done the wrong way around. again!
Hylis wrote: TheM, I explained how much Maniaplanet means to us. We work full time. So, I just think it's cool to see how much the team is working for Trackmania, after we started 13 years ago. As I told you in the other topic, it looks like not enough people understand first before being negative. In your oppinion, if we care so much in Maniaplanet to invest so much time and energy, why would we not be allied? How can we be so dedicated since so many years and don't even think twice with our brain that are probably functionning correctly if we did a game that you like?
If there are so many people not understanding either we are all negative and "idiots" or there is a communication issue. We write all those lines not to discourage you in your work, we now that the team is doing it's best to create a great game. We write it because this isn't just another game we don't care about that we will play for a few month. This is a game we have been playing for years and hope to play for years. Therfore when we don't understand what is happening and see our numbers dwindle we worry. We want the best of the game, but as times passes we start loosing hope, we start to loose trust. I know you do your best, but something isn't working, something is wrong or at least seems wrong at the moment and one thing is sure we are missing still a lot of information.

You ask as to trust you, I do trust you but until when I don't know.

I really hope all my negativeness is wrong and that I am overreacting, I really wish the best for the game and the team.

One (probably rather stupid question) remains for me:

Will there be any difference between the TMT lagoon version and Maniaplanet's lagoon version? And if yes, to which extent?

Not being negative, just a neutral question.

Trackmania Turbo is not an upgrade, it's different (think it's made for console or big screen somehow) If Maniaplanet environments cost like this, it's because of the support on the long run as well. But maybe you should wait more to see it (since Lagoon is after in the calendar, it supposes that you could) So, once you can make the difference, you can decide. My bet is that getting Lagoon + TMT for TMT would be ok if you look to play TMT for what it brings in itself. TMT is really different from the Maniaplanet experience.

Once players will understand more and more what is Trackmania Turbo, I think things will get more and more clear around. Let's say we would have had this discussion with the Wii version? Would it not be crazy?

Here, the debate can only be on two things in my eyes:
1. Did Nadeo was right to take time to work on it?
2. Was it positive to have a PC version more than negative?

I am totally confident that anwers to 1 & 2 are "yes" But I can undertsand that some players are not, for many reasons, including the lack of understanding (not idiot, but missing informations, time to digest some etc.)
